I would put this on the shelf next to Volapuk
I sent a link to Guigou and he loved it and also made a remark about how it sort o reminds him of Volapuk

This stuff is super hip. The polyrhythmic interaction intro is fucking difficult beyond difficult and these guys are all over it. Great development too - the groove, then the real disjunct melody played on the fiddle like some twisted morph of Brahms violin concerto meets the apocalypse with some minimalism a la Reich or Adams thrown in. My vote for the hippest groove of any thread on at least the 1st two pages of PE right now :)
Thanks brother! GREAT.

This is quite great.
It's amazing what comes out when there's a little bit of money for culture....
Actually, it isn't amazing at all.

Thanks Udi, This is great. I hear the influence of 72-74 Crimson but these guys definitely make this their very own thing. I listened to a few other tracks from artists on the same label "Becoq" records. All of them were interesting at the very least. Demands more exploration.

Quite excellent performance and really challenging drumming. I think I'll start digging deeper into their music. Thanks for posting this.
That was just freakin' amazing - one of the filthiest grooves I've heard in a long time.

I need to thank our man Manu or introducing me to this
They will be playing at RIO in September
I did try a few other bands from Becoq" records some intresting stuff but most are leaning more on improv
Which o them did you like Artus ?

Fantastic playing, especially the drummer. However, I really wasn't feeling the music until after the 6 minute mark where things get completely furious. So, jury still out for me, but a band worth keeping an eye on, as the skill level of the players is quite high.
I liked it.Funny, as i listened to the music, i got a aural flashback to some music i recall hearing on the NYC new jazz scene in the mid/late 70's, from folks like Phillip Wilson-drums,Abdul Wadud-cello and Billy Bang on violin. The feel and vibe these three French(?) musicians convey in their music just put in mind of stuff that players on cello, violin and drums in the lofts and artist run performance spaces in lower Manhattan were doing. In any event, bravo to the trio.
