Nice.
I'll be there.
Too bad I can't open the website from work...something about "potentially damaging content".

Nice -- congrats Baribrotzer and Dissonati! Now they just need to get Cirrus Bay on the bill...

Thanks for the support, Steve! Tickets won't be on sale until about April 1st but we have a kickstarter campaign going to record the whole festival. If anyone is interested in helping out: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1752049878/seaprog-album-project
Thanks Kerry. The festival lineup is already set but Bill knows that Dissonati would be happy to do a show with him any time. Hopefully we can make that happen.

I'm excited! Finally, a Prog fest where I don't have to fly thousands of miles and spend thousands of dollars to attend. :D

Well Mel I'm sure you know Thinking Plague and Moraine played NF 10 that you were at. John B's band Dissonati is excellent. I'm sure it will be a great fest.

I have the Dissonati CD. It definitely IS excellent! I may be known as a Symph Weenie, but I do like some Avant, and mainly I want to support the local Prog community and enjoy good times with local friends.

absolutely, of course! i'll also play whichever other NW shows they get - Portland and Vancouver, most likely.
i missed France because it was impractical for me to go, sadly. i won't miss this opportunity to play with the gang, though :)
are you gonna fly up for the show, Ian? it would be very nice to see you again.

KI'd love to make this happen, I've got a load of personal logistics to sort out but I'm very tempted.

Should I take offense at their slogan: "Not you parent's Prog"?

Some updates about Seaprog:
Unfortunately, Hughscore Revisited has pulled out of the festival.
We have added several Seattle artists to the lineup, including Bone Cave Ballet on the main stage, and Amy Denio, Bill Horist and more to come playing in the bar between sets. We still have one headlining band to announce when we get that sorted out.
Zhonguy is actually spelled Zhongyu. :-)
No-one should be offended by "Not you parent's Prog" - we were just happy to see young avant bands embracing some progressive styles. This is a trend to be celebrated! We have a few of these very talented younger bands in the festival line-up.
Tickets go on sale March 30th at 10am Pacific Time on our web site: www.seaprog.org.

I don't like to write reviews. ;)
However, the fest was a lot of fun. I heard a number of local bands for the first time that are doing some cool things (in particular Monkey Bat, Bone Cave Ballet, Alex's Hand & Trimtab) and will definitely be going to see them more often.
The "big" 3 for me were Moraine, miRthkon and Thinking Plauge. All played stellar sets.
It was particularily grreat to see TP again for the the third time, but first time since NF 2000. They were quite fantastic and Bill Pohl was a nice addition.
