Herbie Hancock - Thrust
And "Maximum" from Focus' much maligned Focus Con Proby. Not funky throughout, but it's got its moments.

For me the best sounding Rhodes ever is on Steve Kuhn's album Trance on ECM from 1974. It was custom made to send out a stereo signal and sounds incredible. Only 2 tracks have Rhodes on the album, and this is probably the most funky of the two:)

Some funky real Rhodes (instrument borrowed from Mark Ptak of Advent) played by lead vocalist George Dobbs of 3RDegree. Doesn't come in until about 2 minutes in though:

Maybe recommend something that doesn't promote yourself, Robert? :)
Keith Jarrett and Jack Dejohnette-You Know,You Know from the ECM cd Ruta and Daitya.
Good call. I'll play that today.
From my post to Galactic Zoo forum, Rhodes leads (not sure about degree of funkiness):I'll put a few of these in the playlist today. Thanks!

Yeah, I'm a big fan of that album. I'll have to listen to it again based on your assessment.
Rob, good call on the McCann. I had never heard the Paul Humphrey.

In the realm of music we talk about here, I couldn't think of much funky Rhodes besides our example to be honest. :p
