39 names - less than those lost by the US and UK, but we have a much smaller population. Lest we forget.

I will NEVER forget that in 1966, with only 4 days left before I flew back to the states from Vietnam to be discharged, our base came under attack by the Vietcong. It was pretty scary for about 20 minutes, and I was having extensive thoughts about my mortality (I was all of 21).

Our firefight was blissfully and thankfully ended quickly when 6 Australian helicopters came to our rescue from their base at Ba Ria several miles away.

Every man there knew that our Aussie friends saved many lives.

I won't forget, Oreb.:)

Cheers guys - wars are fought by good, brave young people.

One more today - just as the memorial was unveiled.
