Among several different rock performances of Vivaldi's Summer I've seen occasionally at youtube, this is one of the rare ones that doesn't replace all String (violin, etc.) parts with guitar and I like that in terms of overall sound. For example 0:37-1:07 which is a key part of this piece (that part essentially requires two soloists due to overlap of notes -- to me it doesn't sound as good when both soloists are replaced by guitar -- here only one is replaced by guitar and I like that).

you are aware (unless you've been living under a rock for several years) that his Canon Rock youtube video from several years ago was/is one of the most viewed in youtube history and also highly publicized --- i saw today that in 2012 he has uploaded a new performance/version/video of the tune and this seems to be overall better in performance and sound, and again fun to hear, after several years of not hearing it:

To be honest, I didn't recognize any tunes he might've played , but that's a cool and compact instrument he's built himself... I've seen other examples of these PVC tubes stuff, but they took twenty times the space then his does.
I haven't heard any techno music played either... ;)

Yeah, it covers 80 bands - a lot of covers! I like it when the cover sounds better than the original. For example, Lenny Kravitz's American Women is likely better than the original by the Guess Who. Even that I prefer the Guess Who to Lenny. There are lots of others.

It's weird, a lot of the video has nothing to do with the 80s. They'll show a song from the 70s, then the original from earlier for example. But it's definitely fun to watch.

Also, there are the "original" bands, which bring the total to much *more* than 80.

You are correct. I found it interesting that some origins for cover songs were 50 or 70 years in the past.
