    You think that’s blasphemous?

I had to ask myself, who would even be crazy enough to do a cover version of the execrable “Save Your Kisses for Me”? Walking, talking embarrassment Bobby Vinton, apparently!

I also recently discovered a low-charting single called “Flame” by Steve Sperry. This song absolutely flabbergasted me, as it had to be the worst song I had ever heard. So bad that I couldn’t believe it really existed! So bad that I had to share this song with others, just so I could look at the looks on their faces as they listened to it. Anyway, I went on a Discogs deep dive on this musical abomination and discovered that somebody had actually done a cover version of it! Who, you ask? Why, Bobby Vinton, of course!

I still can’t bring myself to listen to either song.

Tighter, anyway. The Dead were really loose in concert...but generally managed, despite appearances, not to fall completely apart.

Well...how did I never know this Big Band version of a Sandrose song existed until now?

Those were, um, interesting. I think I would like them better if the singer did not stretch so high out of her range.

Okay, so I went down a rathole looking for Pink Floyd covers, and came up with these two beauts:

    Impera littera designata delenda est.

And then a sidetrip uncovered this:

    Impera littera designata delenda est.

More than most Pop stars, I've been impressed with Miley's musicianship, but this seems like a misstep. The alto sounds odd and she didn't own the song at the level her into would suggest, "I do this song for me"
Duncan's going to make a Horns Emoticon!!!

A cover of Tangerine Dream's "Poland" by a student orchestra using acoustic instruments.
Available as an EP along with Charly the Kid from Firestarter and Love on a Real Train from Risky Business under the name AN ORCHESTRAL DREAM by Thomas Rydell.

Now that's a cover I didn't see coming. I wonder who came up with the idea? A student or the director? Either way, they did a really nice interpretation.

    Yesterday I heard this:

These albums were made so parents and their children could enjoy the same music at parties. The audience was recorded, while playing the tape of the music.
There will be a CD-box released with 20 CDs by James Last, containing the Non-stop dancing albums.

Apparently there's also a version of "Silver Machine."

Several members of Lucifer's Friend played on at least one of the Non Stop Dancing albums. Also, JLO member Karl-Hermann Lüer was briefly a member of LF (playing woodwinds and violin on Mind Exploding)

Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft from Klaatu covered by The Carpensters has been posted in a couple of other threads (it even has a thread from 2013 on its own!), but it's nice to post it here again.
