Big Lebowski! Cool. So, that's why the peed-on rug is missing from the picture??

I had no idea who the artist was, let alone that it was someone on PE when I started the thread. I just saw the album go up on Laser's Edge, and I'm often amused by the "sexy" prog and metal covers which are actually pretty common. Which doesn't mean some of them aren't well done, but I sometimes think they're a funny choice for an album cover. This illustration taken on its own is fine - much better than that Iron Maiden cover! I do think it's funny as an album cover, but if the band don't take themselves that seriously, who cares?

Hahaha yes lover what you said, 3LockBox I would have drawn some Viking horns too, however considering that 2 of the core bandmembers are Scandinavians from Finland and the British guitarist lives in Sweden, it would be a bit cliché even for me

I made a cartoon/animated movie for them too, with happy Chilies dancing and shaking the maracas, a snake on a mission and his friend a lovely rat and almost at the end Lisa (girl in the album cover) appears dancing the samba, salsa, meringue and flamenco etc
Here is the video if you want to see or feel like seeing Again thank you very much, Hugs xxx Sonia http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKnyx1xPwmM

What kind of paint did you use on that cover? Oils? Acrylics?

Here are a few phases of that, I censored the one without the French Knickers because I am didn't know if it was appropriate to post it on this site i.e. P.A. sensors all the album covers now even that famous one of Roxy Music of two women in lingerie.

I am afraid the only way to determine if french knickers are appropriate for this site is to post the uncensored picture and see what happens.

I much rather use oil paint, easier blend and achieve the colours you want, making it more realistic looking, however because of this it also takes a long time to dry, besides that it has a strong smell thus an open environment is best with a lot of airflow, it's a big more messier too because the brushes etc need to be cleaned with spirit to removed the paint. For oil painting I use a brand called Zellen (Professional range).

Acrylic paint has no smell, it's less toxic and much less messier, all one needs is water to clean, rinse or dilute the paint. The problem with this kind of paint is that it dries very quickly, thus blending becomes difficult, I do use Acrylic retarder to slow down the drying process however even so it dries out within 5 min grrrr... the brand I use for my Acrylic paint colours are Zelcryl.

Here is an example of an Acrylic paint I made, took me very little time to do this because I like to blend my own colours and using this kind of paint is too much hassle to last only 5 min. bah

I never tried acrylics, but did do several paintings in high school using oils. Oils are easier to achieve desired colors and also texture and sheen. Oils are also expensive, even way back in the '80s.

That's right, 3LockBox I misunderstood your question above about the album cover, I thought you meant which of these two options here I preferred to paint with

For the topic album cover (due to the digital and printing purposes) I used PAINT which is a very basic "Neanderthal" tool and apparently not even considered as "software" by MS because it is free and comes standard in MS Office accessories hahaha and Windows free download. It's very basic I know and hard/difficult to work with too because I cannot blend colours as I do in oil or acrylic even painting. The shading and highlights etc have to be done carefully by using a shade lighter or darker pixel by pixel

True 3LockBox, they are expensive and to be used on long term projects.

That explains the textural anomalies on her skin others referred to as cottage cheese or if you prefer a more medical term, cellulite.

Hey Sonia you are a great artist. I was a graphic artist many years ago. That was my career path but it didn't work out. You're talented, funny, and beautiful. Welcome to PE.

    We don't censor ART.

Porn is (obviously) not acceptable here. But a picture such as yours, even if it were more revealing, is not considered to be offensive on PE.

BTW - my mom was an art teacher, and became a reasonably well known artist whose subject matter in her later years mostly revolved around the Kruger National Park (geographically near Sonia). Her preferred media were oils or water colors - depending on the subject.

So - I grew up with the smells of oil paints, cleaners, turps, and so on...
    Regards,

    Duncan

I think it's great, I love it, and I don't want to analyze it.

What's Going On? I'd say it looks like a lace corset and suspenders, and some kind of shawl that's not doing a very good job of wrapping around.

No wonder the raven croaked "Nevermore!" and refused to sing.

hahaha!!! bob_32_116;328724, you cheeky sod you are very naughty! The raven that refused to sing is not that eagle looking crow in this picture, that one is on another album (dunno if they are related), he too could not sing thus to drown his sorrows be became The Holy Drinker and went to confess every Sunday

P.S. My raven/crow is on strike now, he said: "Nevermore said the raven", if Sonia keeps painting me like an Eagle umphft!
