Introducing Eddie and the Falcons - Roy Wood's Wizzard

Sometimes you've just got to listen to original tunes that sound like cheesy late 50s and early 60s hits.

Proud Peasant - "Saturn, Lord Of The Ring/Mercury, The Winged Messenger" (Manfred Mann cover), from the new PROG magazine CD sampler (July 2016, Syd Barrett holographic cover). Outstanding track!

Great musicianship! "Typical" Japanese fusion: melodic and virtuoso.

yep, they do it well. I find it difficult to discover newer bands from there though. it's mostly just a language barrier I think. searching and navigating music websites in Japanese can be challenging, at least for me. so, do you know anything regarding those two bands...G.A.O.S. and Frog Flavor?

    cheers

    Tonight's menu:

    (All first listens)

Ingranaggi Della Valle -In Hoc Signo A mix of vocal and instrumental, (and even the vocal tracks have long instrumental passages,) not a weak track on this one. Varied, but really excellent. This is one of the best modern Italian Prog-Rock albums that I have heard, and I can recommend it without hesitation. If it were a 70s album, it would be legend.

El Reloj -s/t & singles OK Argentinian Prog-Rock. I was expecting a bit more based on the rep, but it's fairly raw, Deep Purple influenced, and not that far away from the first Crucis album. In other words, good for what it is, but not indispensable for me.

Kasil Fjuzen -Castle Fusion Or vice-versa. Another modern Italian Prog-Rock album, not quite up to the IDV, but still very good. Vocals in English & Italian. This is a little more straightforward than the IDV, but still good. An official release on CDR, if that matters to you.

Although I also have a great amount of Japanese jazz-rock/fusion, I can't help you with these two.
