Soulengine -Mind Colours Italian Prog-Rock from 2012. First 4 tracks are instrumental, then vocal tracks come in. Not a bad album, per se, but it's fairly samey, and there aren't memorable melodies or stirring moments to make regular revisits likely. It isn't Prog-Metal, which I had feared when I saw the cover, but still this is only a middling release.

Looking forward to my day in court.
Kind of goofy but its the season...
A few pieces of music can just grab my brain and transport it back almost 40 years.
This is one of their pieces that I love.

Akritas -s/t Good Greek keyboard dominated Prog-Rock. Usually cast in with ELP, but not clonish at all. Oddly, the disc is indexed with one track, not the 13 of the album. Well worth having, but a long way from essential.
Crystal Phoenix -Twa Jorg-J-Draak Saga The 2nd album by an early 90s Italian outfit. I bought the CD reissue of the s/t (Myriam) LP when it came out, and it's a fine early 90s Prog-Rock album if you don't mind the production. That one got panned by the Prognoscenti, iirc, not that I give a shit. This 2nd album is in the same vein. I'd expect that if you like the first, you'll like this. If you didn't like the first, you probably won't like this.
It has Medieval touches around the edges, as did the first, which is a plus. Drawbacks being the pedestrian drumming and raw production.
Hardwind -Horizon's Misty Way Brazilian band. Nothing new here, this is traditional Prog-Rock, generally well done, with only a tiny hint of Metal on one track. Good, and recommended, but not something you can't live without.
I Califfi -s/t Italian Prog-Rock. Fairly middle-of-the-road for the style, but the last track goes Next Level. Too bad the whole album couldn't have been so inspired.
Mortiis -Anden Som Gjorde Oppror Norweigan Death Metaller takes a turn at Darkwave, with Synth dominated, textured, etheral soundscapes. Not really up to par with the best of this genre, but still way better than the Heavy Metal dreck.
