Combed their site, facebook & twitter and no mention anywhere. Just a mention that their guitarplayer is doing a bunch of solo shows.

So far an unsubstantiated claim by one poster here. They have got two dates in October and one festival already pencllled in for 2017.

The website of their Canadian booking agency says that bookings are being arranged for Oct 2017 in Canada.

Why? Ruth Skipper has been trying to balancing two passions for many years but ultimately something had to give and she has chosen to devote herself completely to her career as a doctor in the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK, a decision I have the utmost respect for.

The band themselves haven't really said that her spot will be filled in only that they will continue to have bassoon in their music whatever that means. So far every musician drafted into the fold has brought in something special but he / she has to bring her A game instrumentally and vocally to step into Ruth's void.

In the meantime, Hannah Miller's dad, who is a luthier, has embarked upon the building of another new instrument (he already has built quite some unusual things for Moulettes incl. a 5 and 6 string cello) in the form of a new type of autoharp he has dubbed Uberharp :-).

Well Dave, now we know they have at least 4 shows in Quebec...and I'm confident of more Ontario gigs, hopefully Hughs Room again.

They garnered many new fans when they opened for Three Friends last year during the Quebec tour, so they are doing their own tour next year, same promoter...

Hopefully they'll pass by Boston at some stage.

Here is a recent performance of a song from Preternatural by the current 4 piece line-up that is now touring Europe. I will be seeing them on Saturday.

Oh, and anyone who hasn't bought their album yet, they have now released it with an additional cd (which also can be ordered separately) with different versions (including recordings of songs from Preternatural made by other artists with whom Moulettes have worked in the past). So far this makes for an incredible alternative album, very satisfying listen.

Then take a nice long one and drive to Canada via Wisconsin & pick me up. It's just a bit out of your way.
