"A different producer on each track" is certainly an idea, but not a good one (IMO).
Whatever comes out of this, "Crafty Hands" is such a gem that I'll rush on the remastered edition as soon as it reach the shops.
Me too. In my opinion Wilson is the best mixer and absolutely the best Surround mixer.

The key with Wilson is whether he LIKES the record. I have not heard him discuss HtM.

The other key, never forget, is if the project can afford him.

Having said that I want to be clear that I think that generally, Steven Wilson does an ace job on his remixes.

Sure, we have no idea about his rates...

But from what I can see in the Wilson Remix Catalogue, there are no "small" names. And HTM are no K.C, YES, or JETHRO TULL.

IF SW likes HtM - he might be into it at a reduced rate! We can all hope. hehe. I know I would do a project for a band I liked that way. But hey. I'm probably sadly wrong here. Business is business.

Would be very nice but looks more like a wishful thinking to me.

Count me in the camp that thinks this album really doesn't need a remix. The only thing I would suggest they do is, now the multis are found, is to create a really cool 5.1 mix.

Dave's a great guy and a great player. I wonder if he's ever played any of this stuff for Billy Joel.

Well, Steven collaborated on a song with Paul Draper (ex-Mansun...SW is their other fan aside from me) on Paul's album Cult Leader Tactics, which assuredly did not make him a penny.
So, assuming he has time l can certainly see him working at an affordable rate on a passion project.

    ^Cool.

I recently bought(more like rebought actually) the first two HTM albums and it was a real pleasure to hear them again. Someone got on my case a long time ago when I suggested they were prog fusion or even had fusion elements but I don't care. I stand behind that! Maybe they weren't full on fusion or even prog fusion but I definitely hear some fusion elements in their music as well as what I would call proto new age. They probably don't really fit neatly into a box and maybe that's what makes them great. I will say that maybe the occasional vocals are an acquired taste and with the emphasis obvioussly being the music I'm not sure why they are on there but I won't go so far as to say they are bad or ruin the music. I also like the first Oblivion Sun album. Anyway, I wonder if this new track means a new album on the horizon.

    Digital_Man,

Yes, there's a new HTM in the offing. In addition, Kit Watkins has a collaboration with Bob Nagy with new songs being released periodically on bandcamp and Kit's website. You may prefer these tunes as they have no vocals.

Thank you for mentioning their new song. Stanley is really hoping it (and the recent “Only Love”) connects with the public. He feels very strongly about the messages of unity and love.

I am wondering whether it will pique the interest of folks not familiar with the band. Do messages like this penetrate? I am fascinated…

Not sure why anyone would dispute that. Kit Watkins's synth leads on the Arista albums in particular are right out of Jan Hammer and RtF era Chick Corea.

Thank you. But yeah people definitely said that. I'm glad I'm not just hearing things that don't exist. :P

Are the vocals supposed to sound like this?

don't really hear any connection between the new songs and the HtM that I am familiar with to be honest! while the new songs haven't landed with me at all, I will likely check out the new album when it releases anyway.

I noticed that the self-titled debut album has been issued to streaming services now under the name 'Starborne', and 2 tracks from 'Crafty Hands' have just been put on streaming as a single.
