I ended up watching the whole movie again.

Bullitt was '68, not '70s. Close, I guess.

    That's another great one.

The original Gone in 60 Seconds, where about half the movie was one long chase scene.

The Seven-Ups has a great one.

The Bourne Ultimatum has a great one too. That's the one with Matt Damon, first on a motorcycle and then on foot, as he tries to save Julia Stiles from the hitman, culminating with the fight in the apartment. That's one fantastic series of scenes from start to finish.

The Blues Brothers might be my favorite, tho. I mean, seriously. How can you not love a chase scene that begins with the line, "there's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark out, and we're wearing sunglasses", includes half of the local and state police of Illinois, various SWAT teams, the National Guard, Neo-Nazis and used 40 stunt drivers and wrecked a total of 104 cars?

Bullitt has the best beginning, tho, when Steve McQueen starts out being followed and then the hitmen lose him, only to find him behind them.
GI60S was one of the first I saw in a theater and was blown away!! The first two Bourne movies have good car chases, but hard for me to tune out the discoey score.

We saw it at the drive-in.

Did you ever see the remake with Nicolas Cage & Angie Jolie? (she lets me call her that)

I had high hopes for it but, Jesus it sucked. I should have known because with Nick Cage, it's a bit of a crap shoot whether a movie will be any good or not (the dude's made 15 direct-to-video movies).

I remembered another movie that had a good chase scene or two: Drive. Which is also one of my favorite movies of the 21st century.

Baby Driver has epic car chases. And an epic run chase. With some pretty darn good music.

Great movie! Which reminds me of another pretty awesome one Wheelman on Netflix.

Hunh. Starts slow but gets pretty damn good. (I still like the ones in Ronin better tho.)

You know what else has an absolutely dynamite car chase? Bullit. Also The Blues Brothers. And Goldfinger, for its time, is pretty amazing.

And there are some pretty good ones in the Mad Max films, especially the second one, but those are a whole different kind of animal.

Speaking of the Bullitt car chase, which I love, like many it is pieced together from different sections of the city. Being an SF resident, it's hard to watch as the chase jumps from downtown to skyline blvd to back to downtown to pacific heights and then sunset.

The same thing was true in a movie where I was an extra, Wisdom, the Emilio Estevez clunker. They filmed the last bank robbery in Sacramento (standing in for Minneapolis) and I was a bank patron during the robbery. The ensuing car chase jumped from the bank street to another area 5 miles away, back to downtown and then to an underpass in Del Paso Heights. That bothered the heck out of me.

PS - Demi Moore was on set for one scene, she had to wait in the car. Apparently I got a little to close to her and was scolded by the AD. I was like, c'mon I only grazed her left .... elbow.

Last time I saw Steven Wilson in NYC some friends and I were wandering Broadway afterwards. We suddenly got caught in a massive wave of slobbering, braindead humans with their phones out and up, charging at some celebrities. Nothing you can do in situations like this other than ride the wave. Anyway, somehow I found myself right in front of the opening limo door of Barbara Streisand No joke, I could have licked her face I was so close. We actually locked eyes and all I could think of saying was "Holy shit, HI!" with my hands out towards her like I was offering a casserole It actually made her laugh. I made Barbara Streisand laugh. Can anyone in here say that? I'm still not a fan though

Not a fan??? What??? I jest because young Barbra (1962 - 1970) is one of my favorite singers. After that she turned into a more talented Bette Midler. Still a great voice but the material, sheesh.

Back to TV, I got a new iProduct a couple months ago and took the trial period of Apple TV. I just binged three episodes of Ted Lasso. OMG, this show is incredible!

It is. And it only gets better, IMO.

Dennis Leary has been guest appearing on Law and Order Organized Crime. He has a bad hair dye job which makes him look downright strange.

That is definitely one of the most amusing interactions with a celebrity I've heard of.

HBO Max - 2 episodes into "Made For Love" - described as a dark comedy and futuristic tech exploration of embedding a chip into a woman's head and her running away but not getting very far. So far so good, and Cristin Milloti (from How I met Your Mother - at the end) is easy on the eyes.

Saw it. Loved it. Has a Coen Bros vibe.

We're watching The Tourist on HBO/Max. I sense a slight Coen Bros vibe as well. Not very tight, but fun stuff. Loved Jamie Dornan in The Fall, so we figured we'd give it a shot. Glad we did!
