Started watching “Dr. Death” on Peacock last night. True story of an incompetent possibly psychotic neurosurgeon who botched a slew of operations leaving patients with permanent disabilities or pain. Two episodes in and enjoying it. The certainly does not make me want to get back surgery any time soon.

Anyone else bite on Netflix's Alice in Borderland? Japanese horror/thriller akin to Squid Games I threw it on a few days ago due to boredom and immediately got hooked. Finished Season 1 in a day and now halfway through Season 2. Highly recommended for ultra-violent, complex sci-fi-ish, dystopian, horror. It's in Japanese and I usually watch in original with subtitles due to piss-poor dubbing these days. I ended up watching several episodes in English dubbed and they did a good job.

1899 kicked ass! I immediately started watching Dark, the first show by the creators. I'm in season 2 of 3 and while the pace is a bit slower than 1899 but the super intelligent concept is mind blowing.

"Dark" is the best time travel series ever made. By the end my wife and I had to print out a flow chart to keep track of who was who, but it was well worth it.

Started watching the first Amazon series of Jack Ryan. So far so good. I read an article on it this morning that shed a little light on it, if interested.

I saw Dark shortly after it was on Netflix, and watched the new seasons as they dropped. Love that show, and I agree with Steve,,,best Time Travel show ever. 1899 I really loved too. Haven't seen Alice in Borderland, but it is on my list.

Just finished Alice in Borderland yesterday and there are some similarities to both Dark and 1899 in terms of thought provoking story. Setting is completely different with AiB being a no-holds barred ultra-violent affair.

Anyone else watching Fleishman Is In Trouble? It took an unexpected and interesting turn in a recent episode. Pretty good.

Watching Three Pines, Canadian detective show with Alfred Molinas in a small town with a Nuns abusing indigenous people history. 8 episodes in 2 episode stories. Very good.

Not a series but we just watched Glass Onion on Netflix. That was a total bomb. Someone must have hacked Rotten Tomatoes. 94%???

We gave Gentleman Jack on HBO a try tonight. Despite the rave reviews, it wasn't my thing.

Watched the eight episode Korean revenge series, The Glory, which is good, but didn’t know there is more coming in March. Eight would have been enough.

Finished Jack Ryan and it was enjoyable. More of the same really, but that's what I expect and why I watch. Great pace. I found the finale pretty underwhelming though.

    What series to start now...

I just let Disney+ and Hulu lapse without renewal. Now I got deals on Paramount+ and Peacock. My wife wants to dive into Yellowstone. I am sensing a soap opera with cowboys but I'll sit through it.

I bought my wife a new iPad for Christmas, and unbeknownst to me that purchase gave us a free three-month trial of Apple TV, so we're finally checking out some of the series we've missed. I had no interest in Ted Lasso but my wife did, and I found I quite like it so we've already binged the first season in two days! I'm sure we'll have the second season done in under a week, and then we are going to watch Severance.

I have mixed feelings about it. Some of the characters and plots are way over the top and there is a soap opera element to it. On the other hand sometimes it is pretty good too. I have not watched the most recent season, and debating on whether I want to spend my time on it or not.

Same here, and Apple+ as well. My kids Mom has Apple in case I need to watch something.

They've canceled that 1899 show after only one season. I guess I won't bother with it now.

I think my wife watched all of Yellowstone (except possibly the most recent season) and the other night we started watching 1923 which is a prequel. So far I've enjoyed it better than Yellowstone, but there are some similar issues with stuff being over the top.

I would check it out, anyway. It doesn't necessarily feel incomplete at the end of season 1.

I was under the impression that 1899 was only intended to be for one season.

Severance is excellent. Slow Horses is a very good British spy thriller series, starring the always superb Gary Oldman and Kristin Scott Thomas. And I really liked Bad Sisters, a dark comedy about four Irish sisters who decide to murder the fifth sister's malicious husband.

Agree 100%. I would've been on board with another season to see where it would go, but as a finale that worked just fine. Good series!

It was a limited series and only planned for a single season.
