Not an US TV-series, but coming from the BBC is The Capture. I just finished watching the second season, which was aired on Dutch TV earlier this year. If you want to know what deepfakes, face-recognition, secret services, computer-manipulations, algorhythms ect. can do to make or break a democracy, this is your thing...

    With Ron Perlman!

As my ex used to say, "patience is its own reward." She could really annoy me, sometimes.

Do you know if season 3 is the last season?
According to some dude on Reddit, "From my understanding, the idea is for five seasons, but if ratings drop in S3, they'll tie everything up in four seasons."

I watched it with Prime app on my smart TV. It's $20 to buy season 2 so I'll just subscribe for a couple months.
That'll save you at least $26, assuming S3 is the same price.

BTW, the reason I asked how you watch it is because, while MGM's app for Roku is one of the better ones, WRT functionality, actually logging in and connecting to your Roku requires a PhD in computer science. It is, by far, the most cumbersome process compared to others. And, of course, if you haven't watched MGM for a couple weeks, they require you to login in again. I even downloaded the app to my phone to make connecting easier. Was it? Fuck no! Every single time I go to login I have to google how. Every other app is a piece of cake.

That's exactly why I don't. There's too much content elsewhere to enjoy. If one provider really wants to go out of their way to make it a complete pain in the heinie to watch their uploads, I'm already gone. There's too much competition. I'm just waiting for the second season of Tulsa King to drop and then I'm back on Paramount+ again. Meanwhile, my middle names are Freevee and Tubi.

Wyatt Earp & The Cowboy War – Netflix: I guess you would call this a combination documentary / drama. It is a documentary narrated by Ed Harriss, but the story is acted out like a drama. This 6-part series talks about the gunfight at the OK Corral, but also focuses on the lesser-known events that followed that famous gun fight. I really enjoyed this and learned things I did not know before. If you are a fan of old west history you might dig this as it is quite well done.

    4.5 out of 5 Stars.

Heard the theme song to Laverne & Shirley and still knew about 95% of it. I hadn't heard that song in 45+ years!

I don't know whether to be amazed or feel sorry for myself.

We have been watching “Vikings” on Netflix and are now in the 6th and final season. Has anyone here watched the sequel “Vikings Valhalla” and if so, how does it compare?

I have watched the original and the sequel. The original is better, but the sequel (Valhalla) is worth watching. All are very well done, IMO. Also, The Last Kingdom is worth watching if you are interested in this period of history, esp. British history.

We watched "The Last Kingdom" and love it. I think overall it was the better series although it is pretty close. "Vikings" seasons 1 to 4 were great, but I thought season 5 was a bit of a step down. We are currently 3 episodes in on season 6 and so far I am having similar thoughts. "Last Kingdom" stayed pretty steady through the whole thing.

Well, Bosch Legacy's third season won't air till March, and there won't be a fourth.

But the "Boschverse" will continue with the Renée Ballard series starring Maggie Q. Titus Welliver will no doubt make a few appearances in that show. I'm looking forward to that.

Vikings Seasons 1-6: We never watched this back when it was on, but after watching “The Last Kingdom” and recommendations from friends we decided to take on all 6 seasons of this epic show. Overall, we really enjoyed it. Seasons 1-4 which focus on Ragnar was a bit better than seasons 5-6 which focused on his sons, but the show maintained high quality all the way through. Most of the acting was great, the action sequences amazingly choreographed and the scenery sometimes breathtaking. Some of the supernatural stuff in the show came across as corny, but I guess they were trying to depict the beliefs of the time. At times the plot got bit soap opera-ish as well, which I found slightly annoying too. That being said, for the most part it was a very well-done show and we were glad we watched it.

    Season 1-5: 4.5 out of 5
    Season 5-6: 3.5 out of 5

No mention of Lagertha, the best character of all? Floki, second best.

I really loved Floki’s character, those Skarscard brothers are all amazing actors. He really carried season 5 practically on his own back and I liked the fact that (spoiler alert) they brought him back at the end of the series. Those last 3 episodes at the end were 3 of the best in the whole series. I also enjoyed the Lagatha character. She was definitely a bad ass and based on a real person. The guys who played Ragnar’s sons were also excellent as well with Alex Hough Anderson as Ivar The Boneless, Alexander Ludwig as Bjorn, and Jordan Patrick Smith as Ubbe were all great. I also liked Clive Standon as Rollo; Peter Franzen as Harold Fine hair were also outstanding. Overall, the acting was top notch for most of the characters.

Any thoughts on the Emmy winners last night? Here are mine

Best Comedy Series – Hacks: I might have voted differently, but Hacks is a great show and deserved the Emmy.

Best Drama Series – Shogun: Didn’t watch it, so no opinion.

Lead Actress Drama – Anna Sawai – Shogun: Did not watch so no opinion.

Lead Actor Drama – Hiroyuki Sanada – Shogun: Did not watch so no opinion.

Limited / Anthology Series – Baby Reindeer: Definitely would have gotten my vote. Fantastic series.

Lead Actress Limited / Anthology Series – Jody Foster – True Detective: I probably would have voted Juno Temple from Fargo in this one. Foster was good, but overall, it was kind of an average performance from her.

Lead Actor Limited / Anthology Series – Richard Gadd – Baby Reindeer: Even though Gadd was playing a version of himself he totally deserved this award and would have gotten my vote.

Director Drama – Fredrick E.O. Toye – Shogun: Didn’t watch so have no opinion.

Director Comedy – Christopher Storer – The Bear Episode “Fishes”: I am not sure how The Bear qualifies as comedy, but this was a great episode and would have gotten my vote.

Writing For Limited / Anthology Series – Richard Gadd – Baby Reindeer: Gadd would have got my vote. Great choice.

Writing for Drama Series – Will Smith – Slow Horses: Have not watched so no opinion.

Supporting actor limited / anthology series – Lamorne Morris – Fargo: No clear winner for me here. Morris was good, but I also thought Tim Goodman-Hill might have got it for Baby Reindeer.

Talk Series – The Daily Show: The return of John Stewart sealed this one.

Writing for comedy series – Aniello, Downs, Stansky – Hacks episode Bulletproof: I like this one. Great episode of a great show.

Direction Limited / Anthology – Steven Zaillian – Ripley: Did not see this, so no opinion.

Supporting actress limited / anthology: Jessica Gunning – Baby Reindeer: No doubt, clear winner here.

Reality show – Traitors: No opinion did not watch.

Lead Actress Comedy – Jean Smart – Hacks: No doubt good choice. My only other contender would have been Ayo Edebiri for The Bear, but Smart deserves this one.

Supporting Actress Drama – Elizebeth Dubicki for The Crown: She was amazing as Princess Diana. Good choice.

Supporting Actress Comedy – Liza Colon Zias for The Bear: I probably would have voted Hanna Einbinder for Hacks, but Zias was good too.

Lead Actor Comedy – Jeremy Allen White – The Bear: I still don’t think this show is a comedy, but White would have gotten my vote as the guy is amazing in this show.

Supporting Actor Drama – Billy Crudup – The Morning Show: Did not watch this so have no opinion.

Supporting Actor Comedy – Ebon Moss – The Bear: This one was stacked. Moss is great, but I might have voted Bowen Yang for SNL. Moss also did an amazing job.

Looks like I may have to check out Shogun as it seems to be the biggest winner of shows I have not seen.

^^ My wife and I absolutely love Hacks, Shogun, The Crown, Fargo, and Ripley. And we really liked Baby Reindeer as well. So those awards all sit well with me. I would have liked to have seen Ripley nab some cinematography awards, as it was truly excellent. Perhaps it did, on the untelevised portion but I didn't look that up. Anything Hacks wins is well deserved.

I think Billy Crudup is great, but we both lost interest in The Morning Show after a while. I couldn't get through True Detective as I thought it was dreadful. Couldn't care less about the Reality TV category.

I absolutely detest The Bear, but apparently it's the greatest thing in history. How they can call it a comedy is beyond me. My wife watches it and I've never heard her laugh.

Interesting. I will have to check out Shogun and Ripley. I agree True Detective was probably their weakest season. I like The Bear a lot,but would never call it a comedy.

If I watched this Shogun, I'd be comparing it with the miniseries from the 70s, which was exceedingly well done. So, a bit of a skeptic, I guess.

We decided to keep going with the Norse stuff and dove into "Vikings Valhalla". This one is only 3 seasons of 8 episodes each so much less of a time commitment, but 4 shows in we are enjoying it.

I dug both the original and Valhalla series, myself. Also watched them after the Last Kingdom.
That period of history, and that area of the world, are a fascination of mine.
