Counterpart is one of the best sci-fi series I have watched in past 5 years. JK Simmons is spectacular. Highly recommendedI thought of another one late last night when I was half asleep. Unfortunately, I forgot what it was.

Our spectrum cable is offering a free year of Peacock, so we decided to sign up. Just started watching “Resident Alien” tonight and loving it 4 episodes in.
And it just keeps getting better.
I finished up Peacemaker (HBOMAand man, it rocked. Literally because the soundtrack is mostly forgotten hair metal anthems, with only a couple songs by major acts. This show is hyper-violent, funnier than hell, darker than hell, and yet it has a lot of heart. Peacemaker is an asshole character out of the last Suicide Squad movie. And essentially this is how he became an asshole and him coming to terms with that. In fact, most of the characters have some sort of emotional reckoning throughout. James Gunn really hit this one out of the park. And the opening credits kill me every time.

Is anyone watching Space Force season 2? I was tepid on Season 1, but loved the cast and absurdist humor. Well season 2 has upped the ante, and quality, and list of guest stars to the point where I'm all in.

I finished Logan's Run last week (filmed a review on my YouTube channel on friday), and was all set to dive into Blake's 7 on Amazon Prime and what happens? they change the access to BRITBOX only
Now it seems some if not all of the Blake's 7 episodes are on YouTube and Dailymotion, but the quality is poor unfortunately. I did watch the Pilot episode the other night that way and may just have to settle for that until I can find an alternative or Amazon changes the access again.
I'm also likely to check out 12 Monkeys as well soon as that is on Hulu.
I can follow how some might not have got into it as much, but overall I really enjoyed it. It manages to keep mystery and suspense throughout the entire season. I wonder if they may ever bring it back for another season, but it seems unlikely at this point. Jason Segel was quoted as saying it was maybe intended to only be a 1-season show anyway.
It's intersting though, the show Only Murders in the Building, while I only have watched the 1st 2 episodes (am/was waiting for my wife to be up for watching it with me still), there's a lot of similarities to it and Dispatches, almost to the point I wonder if the creators saw/were fans of Dispatches which actually is based on a documentary of a real events. So even if Only Murders people never saw the Jason Segel show, they might have seen the documentary or read about those events.

When the first season came out my wife and I started watching it mainly because we are big Steve Carell fans. I think we made it through 2 episodes. I just thought it was really lame writing, especially with the cast the show has. Neither of us found it funny at all. Maybe I should give season 2 a try.
Yeah. Season 2 is way better than the first. The overall tone is still a bit confusing, but they've ironed out alot of issues that were there with season 1.

I'll keep my eye out for that one for sure. There are a couple of upcoming series that look great too: Why Didn't They Ask Evans (directed by and starring Hugh Laurie), and Hotel Portofino, about Brits running a hotel in 1920s Italy. I think both are Britbox originals.
BTW we are still loving The Gilded Age, which is very much Downton Abbey-in-America for my money. I don't agree that it is soap-ish. There are catty women in it, but the writing, directing, acting, and scenery are all top notch.

I'm still with the show as well, however since I was not a Downton Abbey watcher I am not accustomed to the pacing. Remember us Merikans were raised on 40 minute shows that resolved each episode. It wasn't until Hill Street Blues that we gradually accepted major storylines running throughout the season and episodes that didn't resolve. Now nearly all shows are constructed in the season, or even life of the series, storyline lengths and resolution is something that happens throughout the series depending on the arc. Long n' short of it, I may still be impatient with a slow moving show like DA and GA.

Finished Black Summer and rather enjoyed it. It was a visual treat with kick-ass cinematography, action sequences, humans transforming into zombies with filming continuing from their point of view (I have never seen that before). Story holes, sure, but what zombie show doesn't have them. Lack of character development, all over the place, then again the writing focuses on the human experience real-time during a zombie apocalypse.
I'm anxiously waiting for Season 3. Oh, I dare anyone to attempt to guess the main protagonist after S1, E3.

I finished up the eighth episode to the third season of Servant, still a pretty good series although, I think they may be trying to stretch it out some due to its popularity. I hope they have a decent ending to it and just don't string it along just for the money. That said though still pretty interesting.
I watched two episodes off Netflix's Worst Roommate Ever, true crime about serial killers, pretty good. One of the episodes was about an elderly lady running a boarding house in Sacramento, CA. There were some things about that episode that I wished they'd mentioned about how she went about certain things tho.
The only zombie ever seen in Cancun was Ted Cruz. (Not political, just a target of opportunity.)

watched the 1st episode last night. I like parts of it, mostly John C Reilly as Doctor Buss.
It's stated at the beginning, but it's hard to ignore some of the liberties they are taking.
That being said, I'm curious what Adrien Brody will be like as Pat Riley and Jason Segel as Paul Westhead.
It is a bit sad to think this show ended the friendship/working relationship of Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, i guess due to Ferrell feeling he should have been cast as Dr. Buss and is a massive Lakers fan.
I mentioned this before but I don't recall that anyone commented so I'm asking the fans of Resident Alien if you pay attention during the opening credits? They're like pages out of an instruction manual on what is and isn't considered acceptable behavior.

I always watch the opening credits on Resident Alien. I wonder if they're unique to the series or if they come from the graphic novel. Either way, it's a brilliant show.
