I've been digging Picard S3. I think it's been an interesting variation on the who's-trying-to-take-over-the-galaxy-now theme, and weaving in all of the Next Gen characters and tie-ins to both DS9 and Voyager makes it feel very full-circle. As a fan of the franchise from the beginning I'm finding it quite satisfying so far.

Just finished the most recent season of “You” tonight on Netflix. The season was split into two parts. Part 1 was more like a whodunnit type mystery. Part II went into all kinds of twists and turns. It was all completely ridiculous of course, but it kept me entertained. This show is far from perfect and you have to park your brain at the door to an extent, but the acting is great and the main character is always interesting.

She also played Tim Roth's girlfriend in Pulp Fiction (they were the couple who robbed the diner, in case you've forgotten). Apparently, she was also in The Fisher King, but I don't remember her in that.

Now here's what I just found out: she's the daughter of Christopher Plummer! Who knew?
She was Robin Williams love interest in Fisher King. I also did not know Honey Bunney was Plummers daaughter.

In all serious, I'm not surprised you knew. I am surprised I didn't. Though I will say when I first ran across her name, I wondered. But given how often celebrities have the same last name and aren't related, I never gave it a second thought.

Yeah, see I don't remember that. But I've also only seen it once and remember little to nothing of that movie.

Started watching Night Agent on Netflix. It's suspenseful. But......some of the dialog feels a bit........stilted.

Not a series, but the broadcast of The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song honoring Joni Mitchell is currently on PBS and features many of her most familiar songs and some a little more obscure, performed by a group of well known artists. Joni even does a number and joins in on the finale "The Circle Game". The only bummer is when they wheel out the politicians but thankfully they only stand onstage for a moment and don't speak. Highlights for me were Graham Nash doing "A Case of You" and Annie Lennox singing "Both Sides Now". And, of course, Joni still sounding great singing "Summertime".

^^ My favorite CSNY song was written by Joni: Woodstock. Ironic considering CSNY are famous for being singer-SONGWRITERS. Also ironic considering Joni herself canceled her appearance at Woodstock. She was scheduled to appear on Mike Douglas the following Monday. When Woodstock turned into the zoo it was, her management felt appearing as scheduled would risk missing her talk show engagement.

I think he mentioned the sunglasses and then said that he looked like Santa Claus if he were a hitman.

Endured another season of You. Each one is more absurd than the one before. There is going to be a season 5. Please stop.

I believe I read that a season 5 has been greenlight, and will be the final season.

Finished the new season of “Shadow & Bone” tonight. I thought this one was a bit of a drop off in quality from the first season. They seemed to try to cram in too many characters and storylines in this one. Although there is only 8 episodes, they are all an hour or more long and I thought this season dragged a bit at times compared to the first season. Still, it is a very well done show and I will be in for season 3.

Watched this last night. Some really nice moments and excellent performances, but the whole thing seemed a little too polite and somehow subdued, especially compared to the edgier and often brilliant tribute broadcast on TNT around the turn of the century. Still, it's always great to see Joni acknowledged as the genius and influence she is.

Finished season 1 of Severance yesterday. Wow, that's an excellent show! Intriguing, confusing, gripping... well acted, well directed, well shot. Really looking forward to season 2.

We're almost done this one. Three episodes to go, I think. It's a good story, political intrigue, spy stuff, etc. My only issue with it is the overall premise, that of a young low-level FBI agent and a civilian whom he is trying to protect are somehow able to stay ahead of the FBI, Secret Service, and other important investigative groups. I get it, willful suspension of disbelief, but it's over the top sometimes.
