RIP to Jay Thomas, best known for his role as Eddie Lebec on the series Cheers. He was also well known for his many appearances on Letterman's show where every Christmas he'd tell this epic tale of stoned DJs, a hit and run, and the Lone Ranger

I've enjoyed the first two episodes of Netfix The Defenders, the Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Daredevil, Iron Fist show.

^ When I was a kid reading comics, The Defenders were The Hulk, Dr. Strange, and a couple others. Silver Surfer? Hawkeye? Anyway, as a result, I really don't have any interest in this Netflix series.

Have you seen any of the individual shows? I've only seen S1 of Daredevil, and I'm half-way through Jessica Jones, but they're both excellent.

I like Jessica Jones & Daredevil a lot, I'm six episodes into both. Luke Cage is not quite as good and Iron Fist is a step down. But in a morass of lousy TV they are high quality stuff.

No, I saw the Daredevil movie, iirc. He was around when I was a kid, but he wasn't one of my favorite characters.

Check out the show - much different (and better) than the film.

Finished the 3rd season of Fargo a few weeks ago. I liked it but not as much as seasons 1 & 2.

Also just finished all 3 seasons of The Fall the other day. I almost lost interest at one point – much like The Leftovers – but hung in there. Highly recommended. One of the best shows of the past few years.

I'm not a Marvel superhero freak at all, but "Jessica Jones" was so good that it made me a big Krysten Ritter fan. Only got through 2 episodes of Cage before I got bored. Will give the Defenders a look just for Ritter (just like I did with "The Bitch In Apt. 23 & I dug that) & hope it grabs me like JJ did.

The Fall was excellent, really good finale.

Yeah, I neglected to mention how good the finale was: excellent and satisfying. Thanks for reminding me.

There's a trailer now for season 4 of Black Mirror. Really looking forward to that!

I neglected to mention something else: Gillian Anderson was superb in this show while Jamie Dornan was only excellent. In fact, most everyone in this show was really good. And what really stood out in the finale was the showdown between Anderson and Dornan.

What I don't understand is how everyone failed to mention that Archie Panjabi was in it, too (she played Kalinda in The Good Wife). And even more surprising is how you all managed to neglect to mention the kiss between Gillian Anderson and Archie Panjabi!!! WTF???

Just finished the first episode of Ozark.

If the rest of the season is as strong as the first episode, this is gonna be one hell of a show!

I enjoyed the first two seasons of this. Now that the Escobar storyline is over it looks like they are going to be focusing on the Cali Cartel this season.

Oh God, I hope this season does away with all the subtitles.

Netflix's new half-hour sitcom "Disjointed" w/Kathy Bates as a weed dispensary earth mother owner is hilarious imo. I just finished ep. 1 & I'm still laughing. Will have this binged fast.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the opening credits are so good that I may not fast fwd through them like most binges. A montage of scenes from Reefer Madness with an obscure '30s jump n' jive weed song played over it.

Don't forget Julia Garner, who plays Ruth. She was also in The Americans and she, too, is excellent. But anyway, I'm not sure I'd go as far as you, but I know what you mean. Sometimes I wasn't thrilled with the story arc.

One especially head-scratching moment was after Pastor Young put up the cross and Marty meets the Snells at the Young's house. He offers to invest in the Snell's farm and is negotiating with Snell and first offers 100 grand, then offers 200. Snell indicates he has to go higher so what does Marty do? He goes straight to all the money he has. You'd think Marty, who's obviously the smartest character on the show, would be more shrewd than that.

BTW, I thought the best line of the season was when the realty guy was telling Linney about the accident that killed his mother and then says, "I'm never gonna be able to take out the garbage without thinking about her."

Given Chuck Lorre's involvement, I'm a little disappointed with it. That said, the interracial couple Dank and Dabby are hilarious.

OZARK was excellent! Had it's flaws, but most shows do. Just finished season 1 of ANIMAL KINGDOM really enjoyed it! I guess if you watch a complete series, it must be very palatable.

Still no one on board with The Sinner? Some dark shit slowly unfolding in a slow simmer. Jessica Biel is fantastic here BTW.
