I hope the album becomes available through European shops too (Burning Shed, your own Bandcamp?), because $20 shipping-costs is a bit too much for me.

It will be available through the band, which is in France, so the shipping costs would be much less. (Note sure that phrase is grammaticaly correct, but, hey, I'm french.)

No, I really thought this was a Canterbury-tribute.

Hello everyone ! It's BANDCAMP FRIDAY. It means that all the money you spend on bands goes to them only, which is a great support. We have a special something for today : you can order on our page Spectral Music, our new album on the almighty and nevertheless sensible Cuneiform Records ! It means if you're in Europe or in the eastern you'll have lesser shipping fees. It's a beautiful disc and we're very proud of it. It's here :

    Have a good day !

Thanks Xavier. CD ordered on Sunday and it arrived just now. First impression is an album that sounds familiar (this is the 3rd GR-CD I have plus two The Lady With-albums), although I sense a certain broadening of R.I.O.-related influences (read: slightly more free-er jazz-like scenes). Maybe the consequence of being on an (certain) U.S.A.-label?

I’m glad that you like it.

I must say that what I think of as ‘R.I.O.- related influences’ does not generally ‘share room and board’ with jazz. This is my personal opinion and is not being stated as fact.

And I think of GR as being very much in the line/realm of compositionally-based modern jazz that isn’t afraid to sometimes NOT swing or to show influences from minimalism and modern composition, such as Claudia Quintet, Andy Emler, etc. YMMV.

    Hi there !
We uploaded our very first record (2006 !) on Bandcamp. It was available on CD but not on Internet till now. We've made some special edits for the occasion.
It was our very first effort so please be indulgent. I like the compositions and the sax solos, and I quite like Vie de saint François. I don't particulary like my drumming, which is sometimes too "all-over-the place", but the ride cymbal had quite a sound (a friend lent me one for the occasion, and I was foolish and young enough to not care about the gear - silly me).
    Anyways :

    Stay safe !

I enjoyed the first album very much. Perhaps it helps that I like all over the place drumming.
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

Never let good music get in the way of making a profit.

Well, here is something that is not new, but I missed until now. A Tarot-related EP from Ghost Rhythms that came out last April as a subscriber-only digital release. BUT, non subscribers can still buy it for the sum of €3 or more:

It includes the track XavGel linked to in the post of above. Of course it is great so you should buy it. As an added bonus, if you buy anything from Ghost Rhythms Bandcamp today they will also give you a download code for Murmurations, a full length live recording from last November that is otherwise subscriber-only.
