The others didn't do as much for me, but echolyn was the only one that "inspired" me to head for the bathroom, so nine out of ten is a damn good ratio.
As others have mentioned, that was the year that Echolyn performed “Mei” in it’s entirety with the string quartet, so it was a little different from a “normal” Echolyn performance. I have had the pleasure of seeing them quite a few times over the years, and that particular NEARfest performance was not necessarily representative of what you might see in a more straightforward Echolyn show. “Mei” is probably my least favorite Echolyn album (opinions vary greatly on this one), but their output is well worth exploring, as they have put out some outstanding music.

I acquired a DVD of the Porcupine Tree performance in 2001 recently and put it on the other day at work. And it hit me while watching/listening to it and how surreal it came across. Time does fly I guess. And they were such an unknown/cult band at that point (not that they didn't remain so, but then at an even smaller level).

    Happy NEARfest weekend!

If there WAS a NEARfest this weekend, I wouldn’t be able to go (as was too often the case) - Father’s Day + 30th wedding anniversary!

    Happy Fathers Day too!

Despite being a rabid, fondling, prog fan, I admire how you always put family first.

I’d be lucky to get to even Sunday this year. Working 7 days a week 12 - 13 hours a day. I will be at home in spirit on Sunday when my son comes over on Father’s Day.

I wouldn't be there. My younger son has a lacrosse tournament.

    It worked. Thank you.

Really? Seems like it was much more frequently, but also my wedding anniversary is June 21st, so I had a double whammy that often made me have to pass on NEARfest, or cut it short.

I'm still pissed I couldn't go to the last two. And if I could have, I would have bought tickets for the one that got cancelled. I wanted to see Curved Air and SimakDialog. I didn't care who the headliner was.

Curved Air was going to have cancel due to visa issues.
