    Hello, World

Hi, my name is Dean and I am a Prog fan....

This is my first post here but some may recognise my username and avatar from another Prog site where I was once an Admin and am still a frequent, if somewhat antagonistic, poster. I make that information known because there is probably seven years of unwanted 'baggage' associated with my role there that I have no intention of dragging along with me... clear the air, fresh start, give peas a chance and all that.

So... an introduction: I'm an opinionated, yet self-deprecating, fifty-eight year old Englishman who "got into" Progressive Rock back in the dying throes of the very late 1960s but my taste in music is fairly catholic and not delineated by era or genre. For many years I aligned myself with the Gothic subculture, where for a while at the beginning of the 21st Century I managed a UK Gothic Metal band and co-produced their début album. I also create somewhat so-so pseudo-classical/electronic instrumental music from time to time for my own personal amusement that I occasionally share with whoever will listen. I am an electronics engineer by profession who specialises in mixed signal technology so take a pragmatically empirical view of all things scientific. And I prefer cats to dogs.

Welcome to PE Dean! Enjoy the ride, read, learn, and contribute.

And I prefer...well, don't really have an interest in either.

    Welcome.

Cats suck, but I look forward to your insights on music.

Hey Dean! Nice to see you here (why did I not notice this 4 week old thread?)
The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off

I hadn't seen that it (thread) was 4 weeks old myself...

Dean's probably gone by now, cos I haven't seen him post around.

Contrarily to PA, where everyone welcomes a newcomer almost systematically, we don't have that over here.
