Wow Chris Drury! Rangers just got Justin Braun, Andrew Copp, Tyler Motte and Frank Vatrano without giving up any key pieces...nice work!

    Math Time!
if #8 seed Cr@pitals go NHL .500 for their remainder games (8-8-1), Isles would need to be 15-4-1 to tie....

...And Clutterbuck is out for the remainder of the season. Shoulder surgery expected.

Too many games in too short a period. Its going to give games like the Flyer game where they had nothing. Could really use another 10 games on the season.

That is a tough almost impossible hill to climb. I feel for you dudes...honestly! The Islanders are no question a playoff team.

Thanks, I guess that means I'm going to root for the Ra..., no wait I can't do that!!

Both the Isles and Caps are 7-2-1 so it's not going to happen. Still watching and looking forward to the playoffs.

Rangers played like poop and I'm glad we only play each other one more time. Mostly because of the torture it is watching that boring defensive style for a whole game again should the Isles score first. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Boring? Forechecking is hard work. I would much rather watch this style of play vs when Capuano had the reigns where it was a track meet and no lead was big enough.

It was good to see the 4th line have a good game as they haven’t had many this year.

Forchecking is one thing and I love it...I just can't stomach that 1-1-3 trap. Sure it's effective and the Isles do it well, but it's torture to watch. To me!

Your guys better pick it up because Varly's last 4 games against the Blueshirts in MSG have all been shutouts and I'm sure the other playoff teams all have the game tapes.

I just think the Rangers didn't bring their "A" game. It happens sometimes and actually I was expecting it to be the other way around because the isles played the day before and the Rangers were rested. And you can't really count on Martin and Cizikas scoring on the same game either.

A nice few days when the Isles take care business against the Rangers and the Devils. Corey Schneider gets the win and Palmieri gets the game winner. Sounds like a Devil win from 5 years ago

    More dumb math -
since Isles plays Caps twice in last week (home n home) - Isles need to shave "just" 5pts in next two weeks to make final week count (3 games)

    Re: Rangers
IMO - Shesterkin is not getting the same support in front of him in last couple of weeks, and certainly not in last five overall. Just a small increase in focus in D zone would like pay big interest - but the mindset has to begin now.

Same thing happening to Calgary right now coupled with a late season rash of injuries.

They should be playing the Caps now, they shit the bed the last two games.

Sorry to read about Mike Bossy's condition. I loved watching him play and by all accounts he was and is a tremendous person. Won multiple Lady Byng's in addition to a Calder and Conn Smythe. It's sad to see he's so ill now.

Yeah it's very sad. The only player other than Gretzky to score 50 goals in 9 consecutive seasons and correct me if I'm wrong but isn't he #1 in goals per game? Anyway, great player, great person...hate hearing this.

Yes, Bossy’s .76 goals per game is the all-time record. Great player and person. Started as a gunner, became a well rounded player. Unfortunately, liked to smoke, even during postgame interviews. Was not the only player to do this. It looks like 2/3 of the Isles greatest line going to pass this year. It’s been a real long year for the franchise.

The 22 I use here and in other arenas IRL has always been for Bossy. My Islander fandom coincides with his arrival on the team.

    So so many great memories.
