Remember Marty the super Yes fan? I wonder Howe he is doing now! He used to work Yes names and such into his posts.

How is Ivory Forest/Jason this days, Sean? I think you're friends with him on FB.

He's a lot less angry and can deal with people not liking Dream Theater now without calling them "mind fucked snobs". He's a really good guitarist and loves Pink Floyd to the bone. Probably grew out of DT.

Man... this thread is reminding me of all sorts of things/people I'd forgotten! The growing pains associated with thread boards made for some interesting times. Today, we're all so used to boards like this and on-line protocols are so engrained that you just don't see the kind of flame wars that you used to. At least, not on PE. Makes the mods job a lot easier but sometimes I miss it...

In the long run I think I like it better now overall. As you can imagine. I am sure for many of you PE was most fun because it was a place to hang with buddies and I get that, but I think it’s probably a better experience for the folks that aren’t regulars now. The silent majority…. I do miss the old days, but probably not for the same reasons most of you do.

As a music board for courteous and civil discussion, it has probably never been better than it is now. As a place you couldn't wait to get back to so you could goof around with your pals, well, those days are in the past. I'm still a regular but my reasons for coming here have changed since we moved to this current version. I never signed up to Facebook so I guess I don't miss the socializing as much as I thought I would.

Getting back to the topic at hand, one former moderator whom I miss is Raymond D. One of the truly great people I met on this board.

I think this board is better now. Not as many irritants but there's always at least one. I still like talking about music more than anything.

How about "a 16-year-old" (if I've got that right)? Seemed mighty insightful; always doubted he was 16.

I know I'm in the minority, but I really do miss Alex Z-Bop. Very entertaining imo, and if you read between his psychedelicized flights of fancy, it was easy to see that he was a gentle soul with a heart of gold, unlike me and all the rest of you cynical assholes.

How about Peter Thelen's, who had LighthouseKeeper in his name, except there's another LighthouseKeeper here still.

Yes... We've lost a few ladies along the way... When's the last time Lynnette (The Red Masque) posted?

Count me in as a Z-Bop fan. He had style for sure, though was easily misunderstood. But...aren't we all to some extent?

I'm always a bit surprised when any woman prog fan sticks it out 'round this place, with all the testosterone fueled comments that appear out of the woodwork the moment one introduces themselves. Great to have a gender mix on the board!
