Donald Fagen's wife Libby Titus has passed away at 77. I remember she had an album out in the mid-70s, and l also remember her performing on SNL in the early days.

    Yikes.

The only time I saw Maiden was with him.

Sad news although he has had major health issues for years. Those first two Maiden albums have still held up well today.

    Statement from Maiden:

We are all deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Paul Di’Anno earlier today. Paul’s contribution to Iron Maiden was immense and helped set us on the path we have been travelling as a band for almost five decades. His pioneering presence as a frontman and vocalist, both on stage and on our first two albums, will be very fondly remembered not just by us, but by fans around the world.

“It’s just so sad he’s gone,” comments Steve Harris. “I was in touch with him only recently as we texted each other about West Ham and their ups and downs. At least he was still gigging until recently, it was something that kept him going, to be out there whenever he could. He will be missed by us all. Rest in peace mate ⚒⚒.”

We were very grateful to have had the chance to catch up a couple of years ago and to spend time with him once more. On behalf of the band, Rod and Andy, and the whole Iron Maiden team, we extend our deepest sympathies to Paul’s family and close friends. Rest In Peace Paul.

    ^ Nice tribute. RIP Paul.

I love Maiden but not a huge fan of the first 2 albums. I'm listening to the first album now in Paul's honor.

Paul's punkish vocals combined with Maiden's progressive metal was unique and revolutionary at the time. Bruce is great but a more 'generic' singer to me, if you'll pardon the expression. I love several of the Bruce albums (Number Of The Beast is a masterpiece) but Killers is still my favorite.

Heard the whole first album for the first time in years. I'd say the strongest part of the album is from Phantom of The Opera to the end. It's classic, proggy Maiden.

Yes ... in High School. They were also connected through Yale's Psych department (though I'm not sure if it was at the same time), and Zimbardo considered Milgram's equally infamous obedience experiment to be an inspiration. Fair; they were both about authority and situational influence on behavior.
