I'm glad he had a long life. An amazing musician.

From the infamous Lost Horizon. This comes closer to prog than usual for Bacharach/David. It could fit on a Renaissance record.

I was 9 year old and cried myself to sleep because I missed a movie with Raquel. RIP

That's right. I forgot about that. Not that it was awful but imo maybe the most overrated Christmas movie.

I disagree. I also feel the 2022 sequel was a surprising delight.

Gerald Fried died today, prolific composer of TV and film scores. He played oboe in orchestras before his composing career. I met him at The Golden Anniversary Affair in 2014, celebrating 50 years of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Very nice person.

Didn't realize he'd written a bunch of books promoting conspiracy theories on JFK assassination, UFOs, Marilyn Monroe, Malaysian Flight 370, etc. Reportedly his last words were "F*** you, motherf***er." Probably thought death was a conspiracy too

    RIP Madonna's brother.

"Madonna has not publicly commented on Ciccone's passing, but the pop star did like Joe Henry's Instagram post that revealed the news."

I think that passes for public comment these days.

Strong actor; I especially always loved him and Chris Penn (also RIP) as the cops in True Romance.

Carlos Garnett the great saxophonist who featured memorably on Miles Davis’ albums On the Corner, Big Fun and Get Up With It, has passed away in his home country of Panama.

Gary’s solo on Call Me the Breeze from Second Helping is one of the greatest highlights in the whole Skynyrd catalog. RIP maestro.

Thirded on the RIP. Someone who could convey darkness, menace and moral ambivalence in a very compelling and unsettling way.
