That Chicago should be a nice Vinnie show. I think there was an early and late show on the 29th of that year in Chicago. Never heard the late one but I've heard the early one.

"Little Dots" looks to be a composition from the Petite Wazoo band. Any idea what else might be on the disc?
I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight.
Straight from Zappateers:

Little Dots:
Little Dots is the sequel to 2005's Imaginary Diseases. It features additional hand-picked selections from the Maestro himself of the 10-piece 'Petit Wazoo' tour of late 1972. Although FZ worked on this material during different time periods throughout the 70s and 80s, nothing was ever officially released. Now we get the chance to hear more from this horn-driven ensemble, featuring mammoth improvisations and unreleased compositions.

Does anybody else feel a bit conflicted to be throwing "Jacksons" in Ahmet's bank account at this point? I guess I do TBH. I'd rather the dough land in DZ's wallet.
Actually, where does this money land?

I'm going to buy the items I want to buy. Sucks that Dweezil might not benefit as much as Ahmet and Diva, but he still owns a slice of the ZFT, right? It's anyone's guess whether he actually sees a dime though. And Dweezil does seem to want to promote his father's music/legacy...allowing this music to make it to fans seems to be in alignment with that goal.

I bought about half of the post Zappa releases and even so there is excellent stuff I find most of the releases rather boring . Zappa himself was the only one who knew what was in the vault. I really loved the YCDTODA series, combining different edits , remembering where an excellent solo appeared. I just bought Road Tapes which is good but like a lot of the new releases can't compete with Zappa's releases. IMO the entire concert releases are the best. Choices. I would prefer a long time chronological release policy of concerts on a low budget level with a unified layout like for YCDTOSA or just a digital library where you could buy what you like.
Joe Travers dixit :
"I’m going to be working on a Waka / Jawaka / Grand Wazoo box set, I guess you might want to call it – or a CD release of all the alternates and all the stuff that was recorded during that time period. And I am hoping to get those George Duke tunes [his april 1972 demo] on there as well, so that would be something cool... Waka and Grand Wazoo that was all recorded at the same time, and along with those George Duke songs it kind of captures the same musicians, the same time period and the same sound. So, all that stuff would be a good companion release."
Also : "The Lost Episodes one time was kind of worked into a three volume project. And since Frank brought The Lost Episodes down to one disc, then there was a bunch of leftovers... We do have the ability to do another Lost Episodes volume from those leftovers."

The Eat That Question DVD comes out next week and that will be had. I may or may not pickup some of the other releases. Perhaps the Chicago '78 show.

release date is now 11/4/16 according to Amazon.
Anyone hear Meat Light and care to comment?
How is the sound?
UM is one of my favourite Zappa albums, but I wonder if this is any improvement over the vinyl that came out not so long ago.
I don't know if it is an improvement on the vinyl, but it may be convenient to have it in digital format. Plus you get an alternate sequence of the album with some unissued stuff and different segues, and some outtakes, with a few surprises (like another FZ/JCB conversation about the band's struggles, much angrier than "If We'd Only Been Living In California").
If it isn't Krautrock, it's krap.

The next FZ release will be the Roxy Performances box :
