I don't see why they can't also release a set with just the CDs, which is all I want. Anyone who wants the full set with the silly extras would still be free to buy that one instead.

We’re all going to buy it, right? I mean. Come on. So let’s do this.
When we order from Wayside, we’ll ask Steve F. to send us the discs and the booklet and, like, some sleeves, and he can keep the rest of the shit. Now that’d be some goddamn customer service!
And all of those masks and shit? Wayside could open one of those Halloween shops that pop in abandoned Dollar Trees every October.
Win fucking win.
I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight.

I am a big Zappa fan, I have most vinyls until 'Sheik YB', I have bought everything ( mostly) on Ryko when it was firsr released on CD, I have rebought most of the 2012 remasters , I have bought some of the post releases ...I stopped completely listening to music in transport due to a problem with my inner ear. I had to wear ear plug filters and even now I just keep the filters to blend out the noise and stupid conversations. Anyway, nowadays my favourite (and often only) music moment is about 20 minutes in the morning when I am ironing a shirt and prepare stuff for the day. I listen often to one side of a vinyl , mostly favourite records (quite often Zappa) and I am less and less interested in another boxset with unreleased concerts/ demos/ runthroughs...of my favourite artists. So I'll get probably the Orchestral Favourites ....

Not quite so excited now that I see the price, lol. Anyway, I thought this was cool:

I only like old Zappa. Before everyone else got into him.
They're not inflating the price by including crocheted red and grey leg warmers and frizzy wig?
OMG, how am I going to explain to my wife that I need that Hot Rats set when she already roasted me for pre-ordering the Halloween set?
I mean, either way, it will be mine... just asking.

Where on zappa.com is mention of the Hot Rats box?
"please do not understand me too quickly"-andre gide
It was prominently displayed at zappa.com, you couldn't miss it, but it's taken down.

They followed the same announcement process that they used for Orchestral Favorites:
1. Put up the announcement page to get everybody all excited, people start passing around the link
2. Take the page down because they screwed something up
3. Put it back up with the corrected info
They've only done 1 and 2 so far.
Woo, and indeed, Hoo. This is more like it.

Still no credit for Lowell George ?
wow.
That's an impressive collection for this one.
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

From the Vaultmeister:
Hello. As you know, "The Hot Rats Sessions" box set appeared in our store today. What you might not know is that this happened mistakenly. Our store partner made this error. “The Hot Rats Sessions” should have been announced tomorrow on the 50th anniversary of the release of "Hot Rats." Adding insult to injury, the store page included information from a work document that should never have been leaked. Rest assured we will announce as planned tomorrow, October 10th, and when you receive "The Hot Rats Sessions" box set, you will have all the correct information at your finger tips. Thanks for your understanding. Joe Travers, Vaultmeister

FWIW, there's a track on the Lowell George Lightning Rod Man album by the first Little Feat lineup plus Ian Underwood, recorded at TTG at the same time Zappa was recording Hot Rats there.
