^^ Fonda is a good choice. Especially since it went against his typecast. Just a brilliant move.
I wouldn't know where else to start. Too many to choose from.

Have you ever seen Billy Budd? It was on TCM a few weeks ago. The last time I'd seen it was nearly 40 years ago.
It's a good movie and I think it was Terrance Stamp's movie debut. Peter Ustinov plays the captain and Robert Ryan plays the sadistic master at arms to great effect.

^^ Never heard of it.

Well, shame on you.

Hitchcock's "Saboteur" was on last night. He really had a knack for larger-than-life climaxes.

Starting to get my Holloween film list together. HHH of course, The Horror of Dracula and Salem’s Lot so far. Need a couple more.
The older I get, the better I was.
I bounce really hard off "Brides of Dracula". The Baron Meinster is, well, just a bit too precious. Plus, not enough blood. It's a Hammer film. There should be buckets of the stuff.
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart
For some reason I've seen only bits of a couple of Hammer films. I blame WNEW, WPIX and WWOR. They should have shown them more often! I think they preferred to show black & white movies for the most part. Or I did and just didn't watch those.
Man, does THAT take me back to my childhood. I may live in suburban Pittsburgh now, but I grew up on the other side of the state and got both the NY and Philly channels.
Perhaps, but it does have the obligatory cleavage. And his mother is pretty creepy as a vampire. My only gripe with the movie is the MAJOR flaw in the baron's death scene.

I agree Ron. The death scene was a tad weak but I didn’t know a vampire could die that way. Worms out of the can?
The older I get, the better I was.
That might be the second worse plot hole I've ever seen.
This is the worst, imo (this is just an awful scene all around, from the lame dialogue to the questionable acting and poor direction):

Great triple feature on TCM tomorrow night. Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein and Horror of Dracula.

Watching "The Invisible Man" with the great Claude Raines (1933) on TCM. I just saw it not too long ago. Great example pf pre-code cold-hearted violence in film.
