Hear this one yet?
This thread serves as a reminder that I need drag my PG discs out, dust 'em off and spin 'em again. It's been far too long!
Passion, Peter Gabriel's stunning score to Martin Scorsese's film The Last Temptation Of Christ, turns 35 today! I wrote a review of the album: https://pienemmatpurot.com/review-pe...-passion-1989/

After i/o came out on CD I went on a major PG binge, listening to the entire catalogue several times. I came to the conclusion that many on this thread have: as great as some of his music is (PG III & IV), Passion goes way beyond great pop music. It created a new genre, "world" as opposed to music from individual nations/cultures. Its influence can still be heard throughout the world of music. And it is still a damn satisfying listen. *****
In a Gabriel phase too !
I LOVE The Last Temptation of Christ score but have yet to hear the album. It's one of my favorite films in general and a yearly Easter viewing tradition.![]()

Also worth getting, though it has no PG music on it as such, is Passion Sources, a collection of field recordings and such that helped inspire the Last Temptation s/t.
Cobra handling and cocaine use are a bad mix.
