Yep same here, mother devout Catholic, father sure atheist. 68 years of marriage until Dad passed 4 years ago. Maybe why I am a devout agnostic?

When in Maryland you need to stop by Orion Studios if they are having a show.

I know the feeling when it comes to religion and also consider myself an Agnostic. My mother was a devout Methodist (we were raised in the church), my father an Atheist. My Aunt / Uncle and cousins on my mother’s side were fundamentalist southern Baptists. I mean, hard-core Pentecostal types. Then…….I married into a Catholic family. My wife is not a practicing Catholic, but some of her family are very devout Catholics. When I was growing up the only thing my southern Baptist relatives hated more than atheists, were Catholics. So……..I have been hit by all sides when it comes to religion over the years which has made me a fence sitter I guess.

I guess the Memorial Day weekend was a popular time to get married - my 36 year anniversary will be the Tuesday after.

Not married, living alone, and pretty sure I will die alone.
Living alone is not bad, unless you suddenly fall ill, like I did yesterday. Laying on the floor and suddenly needing to puke. And after that needing to clean up, while feeling very bad and hardly able to stand.

Here in the States we have a service called Life Alert. In a medical emergency, push the button and tell the operator you're in distress. When it detects a sudden fall, the pendant transmitter will automatically call for help.

Yeah, we have something over here as well. But it is not something I need at this moment. I'm in good health. I just decided to lay down on the floor, because I didn't feel to well and all I wanted was to lay down, preferably in bed, but at that moment my bed was to far away, so I decided to just lay down on the floor, till I felt a little bit better.

I live alone. I'm 65, so I'm not climbing ladders or trying to fix things. I'll spend money to have a handyman do it. My only relative I can count on is my daughter. She's all I have. She is a beautiful, intelligent, educated woman.

Well, I could very well be wrong about that. I was basing my opinion on the fact that U2's Bono and Jon Bon Jovi are both still married to their high school sweethearts and I've heard of other instances of that as well.

Same here. I have two cats but no real close friends. I used to have friends in the past (usually only one or two at a time). For now I'm ok like this. I have certain physical issues (mainly the one I mentioned earlier) that I am trying to manage.

Sorry to hear about your issue. Do you have people you can call to talk to? I'm close to my mother but that's about it.

I'm 64. Most things I still fix myself, though sometimes things don't work out the way they should, like when I decided to fix the wastepipe of the kitchensink. The water wasn't flowing away properly, so I decided to take it apart and clean it. Alas when putting it together again it appeared to leak a little bit, so I needed to get someone to fix this. The company I rent from, does this for free (well, I have to pay a bit extra for this service). Mostly I decide to clean the wastepipe just before I decide to go to bed.

I don't have contact with relatives. I've one friend, who lives in Rotterdam, but we don't have that much contact. Visited her in January and last week we went to Breda, together with her partner (husband).

At 58 years of age, I'm still able to eat spicy food. Including whole jalapenos, and other hot peppers. No stomach problems like acid reflux. No flaming anus while making bowel movements.

I still eat spicey food. Using quite some amounts of sambal (grinded peppers). Yes, sometimes I have acid reflux, but well...

Lately I avoid heat. I'm sauteing my proteins and aromatics with Cumin or Turmeric. The only heat I use is red pepper flakes, sparingly.

I am not much for spicy food but my tolerance has grown over the years. My wife loves the stuff. She can't handle greasy food but I can. We are eating a lot less red meat and boy, I have some questionable side effects after eating it now. Not good because I really crave a good cheeseburger now and then.
