What can this strange device be? When I touch it, it brings forth a sound (2112)

I hope the same. You have real storms, we have just heavy winds.

Just heard Scott Simon interview Herb Alpert this morning. What a great / humble / inspiring interview. The guy is 89yo and just released a new album! He also has in the works another Christmas Album....His first (1965) is my primary holiday go-to.

Go to NPR to stream the interview....it's just a fun few minutes of a humble guy that is a giant in the recording industry.

Just heard from my brother in St. Pete. this morning. Power, water & sewage all up again. Pretty fast service. He had 1" of water through his house. Stayed in his airstream alongside the house....high & dry. His daughters family 4 miles away had 4 FEET of water in their first floor. Just heard from my buddy in Blairsville, GA. He bugged out to North Carolina and is now trying to get back. Heard from a neighbor that the "hood survived.

I've never had any flooding in my part of the county but I've ridden a few hurricanes out in 40 years of living down here.

Brother updated yesterday afternoon.....Many houses on fire. I guess your supposed to trip you main circuit breaker Before your house floods.....you can imagine the outlet-submerged in salt water with the restoration of power. His house is 65 yo. Dunno if its been electrically updated (GCFI etc) Anyway, He's heard sirens and seen smoke all afternoon. Daughter 4 miles away had 6 Feet of water in the house....it blew in the garage door and sent that wall of water into the kitchen. They now have a dumpster in the driveway with all the belongings they bought last year after that hurricane. This AM he says folks are dumpster-diving in front of peoples homes. So, you have the trauma of riding through that storm, losing all the belongings (you didn't store high) and then scavengers routing through your garbage. It's Not Haiti, it's Saint Petersburg, FL

...just though of something....do you have to buy separate Hurricane insurance??? Or let your house catch fire to get coverage.....out West here a family friend went through an earthquake, the roof split open....and the roof A/C caught fire....he went out and put out the fire.....insurance adjuster said if he didn't put out the fire, he could get the roof repaired....they only paid for fire damage to the A/C....he had to pick up the dime for the roof......no earthquake insurance.

I'm getting a little concerned that my physical therapist might turn me in for self-harm.
I'm still partially paralyzed in the left arm and am progressing in PT. Last week I visited the E/R because I

sliced my left pinky with a kitchen knife....not deep enough for stitches but the upper pinky knuckle isn't working.....so going to see a hand specialist to see if i severed a tendon. Yesterday I cut the right index fingertip with a cheese grater! The real reason this is happening is I'm trying to adapt to life and using different methods. I'm left handed and its the left arm / hand that's taking a beating. Maybe I should just eat out until things heal and stay away from kitchen tools! I'm having a hell of a time typing this AM with all the band aids on my fingertips.

^^ When my dad split the end of a finger lengthwise with the table saw, he couldn't type for a while.
