Cardiacs--where to start?

Still working my way into the catalog. Received Ships and Irons and On Land... this week, so my collection of the "classic" lineup is pretty full. Gotta say, of all those, A Little Man... is an absolute masterpiece. So much going on. I also have (and love) Sing to God, but have yet to dig into the other quartet albums; they'll be next, I think.

Don't forget the Ditzy Scene EP! Although best of luck finding a physical copy if you go down that route, they fetch a pretty penny online.

On that note, Ditzy Scene is easily my favourite Cardiacs song. The moment when that heavy guitar line kicks in... mmf, I swear it's like my ears have an orgasm. Just phenomenal.

For sure, the Ditzy Scene EP is essential for anyone who's getting into Cardiacs. I ended up getting it from iTunes some time ago...

My fav tune from it would have to be "Made All Up", but all three tracks are excellent.

I find myself almost never spinning singles or EPs; I always go for albums. And that's too bad because there are some true gems there. Now I have an extra Cardiacs album that I find myself spinning pretty often. Works great for me.

You are right! The single is in my bc collection but I somehow forgot to add it to the compilation. I have to correct that because its a cool song.

As I don’t have any post 1993 B-side material I’m very tempted by this splendid idea to make a second collection of ep tracks. However I very seldom listen to music in other formats than Vinyl or Spotify (when not at home).

How do we get the Alphabet Business to actually proceed with making such a collection available on vinyl and streaming services?

Also extremely tempted to make a vinyl version of OceanLandWorld myself as I suspect there never will be an official release.

I do not think I will get this book. I love Tims lyrics although most of the time I do not have a clue what they are really about. That's their main strength! They leave a lot open for your own inagination.

I am not waiting for someone to 'explain' them to me.
