I've heard it that way since it was released in 2004, and I can't NOT hear it now. It takes me right out of the song, but it's funny as hell. For the record, the real lyric is "just a shimmer in the wind."

If we trust the lyric sheet for Close To The Edge, apparently line at the end of the piece is "Now that you find, now that you're whole". I always thought it was "Now that you find, now that you're home".

I always heard "silly human race" as "see the human race".

And in Sound Chaser, I swear when I first heard that album, I could have sworn the word "imbecile" (with the last syllable pronounced like the word "aisle") somewhere in there, but when I hear it now, I can't suss where or why I thought that word was in that song.

The first verse of Afterglow, I had totally wrong. I thought it was something like:

That's what i get for trying to learn the lyrics off a live album.

Speaking of live albums, I swear I couldn't discern one single word on Space Ritual, save for the spoken word pieces. I got the words for Master Of The Universe from the lyric sheet that was in In Search Of Space, but the other songs, most of them, I had didn't find out what the words were until I got that lyric book Hawkwind sold on tour during the early 90's. And I think even that didn't have Born To Go and one or two other songs in it.

I have a Genesis bootleg on LP where the band's name is rendered as "Gensis" on one of the handwritten labels, with a note acknowledging the spelling errror.

The early 80's new wave band The Vapors had an album called New Clear Days. The cover artwork showed a image of a weather man standing in front of a map of the UK, with the image manipulated so that the rain clouds on the map appear to look like mushroom clouds (such as created by a nuclear explosion). Took me years to catch that pun.
