    PLEASE CRITIQUE!!!

    Hey all,

I am new here...well, pretty much new EVERYWHERE.

My name is Steve, I am a member of a local band in Johnson City, TN; USA

My band just did the soundtrack for a (very strange) entry into a short film contest that was written and directed by our sculptor friend Nathan Ransdell and we had to use the internet and computers to submit the final draft. I started playing around with the internet search thingies and soon came to the realization that there are more people out there making the same kind of stuff that we been doing.

I would greatly appreciate if any of you internet people out there, that read this, please respond to this transmission.

I think I've figured out how to post a link to the film or some of our music on this forum if any of you would be interested in listening and providing much welcomed (be it good or bad) feedback.

We don't have a heavy saturation of psychedelic or progressive venues(or listeners for that matter) here in hillbillyland, but it's home.

I am really digging this whole internet connecting me with all of you thing. I'm proud to consider myself as one of you. Please reply.

    Sincerely,

    Steve Mange

    trurl,

OK, thanks. here's a link to the short film, but it is not really indicative of our overall "sound":

Do you know if I can upload some of our music as files here, or do I have to do that somewhere else and post a link to them?
The contest people put our video on youtube for us, so I haven't done that yet. I can figure it out if need be.

It's really not my bag so I don't really feel qualified to critique it- sorry! It seems totally cool and competent for what it is... I like the atmospherics of the music in the video clip but my aesthetic production-wise would be very different, far less low-fi- but I assume I'd probably be missing the point Anyway I think it's great you're doing this kind of thing here in TN and I hope you get to keep on with it!

    Steve,

I got into it big time. the action at 4.25 of "tone generation/time pulls the trigger" was a nice build. It reminds me in many ways of Guru Guru in their finest psychedelic moments. Great stuff.
