A few too many thousand miles for me to make it. However, checking out the lineup has hipped me to a couple of bands I didn't know of. Spontaneous Rex in particular is pretty damn hip, and just my kind of thing

^ I’ve actually thought before we could probably all benefit from music festivals we can’t attend if we check out the music of the bands in the lineup. Obvious I guess, kind of like auditing a college class. I have to work on that discipline...

I've never been a big festival goer, but the prospect of seeing Free Salamander Exhibit, Cheer-Accident, and Faun Fables on my birthday was tempting me to come up for the Saturday. However, I've just been firmly instructed not to make any plans for that day, so that's that!

Pretty sure it will be the latter.

I think Moecurlythanu was making a joke. You wrote:

Moe was saying "Take in this line-up" means giving a home to your girlfriend's family.

But yeah, homelessness is a thing in Seattle. You see tent camps under the freeways everywhere. Heartbreaking.

It is in Portland, too. Not sure why - but I could cite mild (if rainy) winters, high rents, and a left-wing popular culture that regards them as unfortunates suffering from poverty rather than criminals suffering from moral rot.

This does look great. I hope we all keep paying attention! We’d love to play it at some point if that’s do-able.

I am loving the samples from Clearly Beloved. Great line-up, all around.

Proposed. I don't think we actually have any yet?

OTOH there are coffee stands every 5 meters in any direction.

But no more $500,000 combination self-cleaning porta-potties/sex boxes.

My mistake...I looked up an article about them and they were a million each.

I vaguely know who any of these artists are which would make it an interesting experience. Wish I could make this one -- maybe next year and I can tie it into finally visiting the NW.

Well not to get too far off into the weeds, but addiction *is* a medical problem. Million dollar portapotties were not the solution, despite some saleman’s pitch.

But come enjoy the festival. These problems won’t intrude on it.

Got my 3-day pass! $75 is a steal, especially for this lineup!

Certainly. Seattle is not the only city with homeless issues and vagrancy problems.

Got my ticket. Haven't seen Nil's in a few years in any iteration....Attended SGM & Faun Fables in the past as they performed in the Seattle area quite a bit in the previous
decade....I have mixed feelings about this festival......as it stands now....it is small and intimate....and you feel like these are private performances for you and your prog friends.....But....it needs to grow to be sustainable...... If You are a True Progressive Ears member.....Attend NOW so you can one day complain that "it was better in the early days when it was intimate"......
The Ice Cream Lady Wet her drawers........To see you in the Passion Playyyy eeee - I. Anderson
