Green Day = English accents
I'm annoyed by those country vocal affectations. Oliver Anthony doesn't talk like he sings, for example. (But it's "authentic"!). I'm sure we could list dozens of examples.

I've seen that referred to as a Mid-Atlantic accent, although the Wikipedia article on that term seems to discuss solely to the semi-British posh accent affected by Americans as a signifier of being upper-crust (and also in the theater), with only a passing mention of it also describing any blend of British and American. I used to work with an older Englishwoman who said she couldn't stand the Beatles because of their "awful Northern accents"; I was surprised because I didn't think that really came through in their singing.
Richard Thompson on Sting:
Hey now, Geordie, sing us all a song
Whoa there, Geordie, where's your mother tongue?
That don't sound like Tyneside to me
Geordie, are you from Jamaikey?
