    Kieth Emerson's Gear Auction

It appears that Keith Emerson's estate is auctioning off most of his equipment:

The Emerson listing starts at page 170

Indeed, but I wouldn't mind having the daggers he used on stage. Don't see those in the catalog.

Looking forward to my day in court.

I think it is great that fans and collectors get a chance to own these memorabilia pieces.

I'll take his Moog ribbon controller, but only if it gets sanitized first.

Yeah the modular's not in there. Wonder what they're doing with that..

To clarify, these are items from his touring rigs, from recent tours. It doesn't include everything (the modular, for example, obviously)

Doesn't make it any less sad.

The fact that the equipment is being sold because of the way he died?

Does anyone know what happened to the two keyboards that he only used on the BSS tour, 2/3 of the proposed Moog Constellation setup? If I had the money, I'd buy the monosynth part of that in a second.

Just another sobering example that he's played his last note.

It's been kind of difficult for me to shake this one off even though the end would have come eventually as it always does.

Seriously? It's music history. It means a lot to some people. I never got into ELP, but had a friend (RIP) who was way into them and it brings back good memories.

    And, yeah, the knives.

...let me know when Emerson's Tarkus outfit goes up for auction...

I saw that several of Santana's guitars were also being auctioned-off too.

    Makes perfect sense. Thanks!

Yes, I am being serious. When someone states that something is 'sad', there could be many reasons why they feel that way. Was me asking for the definition wrong?

Yep, that's a good thing! As a music collector, I hope these pieces go to honorable fans/collectors.

I think it's more important the instruments keep being played. That's what they were made for. I rather see them in the hands of a musician, than in hands of some fan, who just want them, because they were from Keith Emerson, but won't play on them.

They went back to Moog, as far as I know. They were prototypes, and Keith was providing feedback to shape the final product - which never eventuated.

Trying to get the bx3 but it’s getting a little rich

I wish I could get the C3 and may splash around a little but that treasure is going to go for a pretty penny.

This is an emotional venture I hope I remain restrained

Wow, good luck and be careful!

I wanted Entwistle's Spyder bass, but it went for as much as my first condo...

Not much bidding on the C3 until someone kicked it to 15k.

Tomorrow is the live auction. Hope my bid holds up

I got the Kurzweil SP2X stage piano, Korg BX3 organ with the TREK 2 UC1A preamp, and road cases.

I’m pretty damn psyched about it

The C3 went for $87,500 including premium way outa my price range

Thanks to pbs1902, and progears, I wouldn’t have known about this otherwise.

    That is freeking awesome!

It seems that most of the stuff went over the estimates: https://www.julienslive.com/m/view-a...no&featured=no

I found this info on the Keith Emerson Facebook page and the ELP appreciation FB group.
