Who is Adele? I've never heard of her.
^^ Come on, you guys, everyone in the Prog community knows who Adele is - you’ll see her manning the Progdocs table at ProgDay. Have you been living under a rock?
If it isn't Krautrock, it's krap!
If it isn't Krautrock, it's krap.
"And it's only the giving
That makes you what you are" - Ian Anderson
A bit of background Krautrock history....Eleven months before the Woodstock Festival, the city of Essen hosted the Essen Song Tage Festival from September 25-29, 1968 - a "festival for rock, pop, chanson, folk song, underground music, cabaret and poetry". The mix was legendary.
"Songs can be unpleasant, wake you up out of convenience!" Was the message in the festival magazine, and to prove this, the Essen Youth Welfare Office invited over 200 protest singers, beat musicians, lyricists and "underground artists" from Europe and the USA. More than 40,000 people across Europe attended.
Our new film Krautrock 2 focuses on the bands of the South of Germany, but it also highlights historical events that were important for the bands like the Internationale Essener Songtage (IEST) in 1968, and the rise of legendary label manager Rolf Ulrich Kaiser. ^ Like you can fool me posting a picture of Jed's daughter.
Sounds good. I'll attend. I enjoyed Adele's showing of RWIII at ProgDay 2 or 3 years ago. Popcorn courtesy of Rich (Progholio).

Looking forward to my day in court.
^ No, be nice. Jed's saying he wouldn't mind having a rich daughter to lend a hand.

Guess it depends who they can interview, AD2 is certainly a gap.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?
There are only 10 types of people in the World, those who understand binary and those that don't.
I'm one of the 212.
So is Embryo and Popol Vuh, FTM . Furthermore, I think all 30are Munich-based bands, among with Out Of Focus, a city which was more a hippie scene
My guess is that they're going to concentrate on the Berlin and Koln-Ruhrgebiet scenes, but that would mean that they overlook Tangerine, Agitation Free, Ash Ra and Schulze as well.
From what I can tell at this point, they're mostly going for the Kraftwerk/Neu/Cluster/Harmonia/La Düsseldorf route with Can as a starting point. But that's kind of reducing "Krautrock" to a single dimension.
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.
This is Part 1 Ian. Amon Düül II, Embryo, Popov Vuh, Guru Guru and many other legendary bands are covered in Part 2, a second movie to be released next year. Check the complete list at www.progdocs.com/rw-iv/
