Dieter Moebius : "Art people like things they don’t understand!"
I will get this sight unheard.

Atta boy, Luther!
It sounds really good, very 70s!
no tunes, no dynamics, no nosebone
You can order directly from the band: https://supersister.nl/2019/01/super...-project-2019/
I'm going to see them live in Amsterdam next week and I'll probably get the album after the gig.
I remeber seeing the documentary about the recording of this album. Robert Jan Stips is in a legue of its own. Some of the people playing, like Cesar Zuiderwijk had some problems, because Robert Jan Stips came up with something and then they discovered it had all kinds of weird time-signatures.
I would have gone for the vinyl but I find the artwork a bit dull compared to their earlier records, a download it will be.

Yeah, it looks like a temporary "artwork", but the title sounds definitive Super Sister read backwards
as for the music, it sounds quite Supersisterious.
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.
Some them live on Tuesday. Great show. The new material they played was very typically Supersister without being a rehash of old stuff, so I think I can safely recommend the new album to fans of the band.
listening to this for the first time as i type. immediately recognizable as SS. doesn't sound like any time has passed.
This is pretty darn good. I hope everyone finds their way to it.

How about a good, ol' fashioned thread bump?
Not sure why I picked Retsis Repus off the shelf this morning, but I sure am glad I did! I don't think I've spun it since it was released. I stand by my original review: "pretty darn good."

They did this show last year with the orchestra Residentie Orkest and did it again a few weeks ago IIRC. It does include some non Supersister stuff for instance the opening suite Hjuvi was written by Stips for Nits originally.
Elton Dean and Supersister? Two great tastes that taste great together.

I'm excited for this one. I had understood that Elton Dean had agreed to join Supersister after Charlie Mariano left for Eberhard Weber's band, but Supersister ended up pulling the plug. I didn't know there were these sessions they did with him. Wondering if it will be in the "Iskander" style.
