I hope he gets a chance to interview Guthrie. The Aristocrats are always a pleasure to see live. Three great musicians.

LOL. He’s certainly in the vein of Allman Brothers when it comes to playing great music and no antics, which is a good thing IMO.

A great vid on Jeff Beck

I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

Rick's 40 best sounding albums/songs. Yeah, there's a bit of prog there but be forewarned, also hip-hop

I love how this thread can be repurposed every time Rick does something like...

I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.

Now he's pitching his new "Beato Club" which seems to be it's own little social media platform, with different levels of perks depending on how much you pay each month. Honestly, it seems a bit much.

I’ve been a fan of Beato, but he’s pushing his products too much.

Jesus Horatio Christ. The dude's got three and a half million followers on YT, he spends a half hour talking about a classic Genesis song, and people on this site are complaining and throwing shade. Shrug.

Buy my book, and you will learn the best way to respond in PE about Rick Beato.

I've watched several of his videos. They are interesting, just like some other videos.
Yes he wants to sell his books. Other videos on synthesizers try to sell softsynths. I remember watching a 10 most expensive synthesizers video, which was promoting a package with softsynth versions of several of those instruments.

This is pretty standard for music guys. I follow a lot of guitar guys on YT and there's always books, courses, etc. It gets a little tiresome but I understand the need to monetize and make a buck.

Sometimes it seems like a long and interesting commercial, mixed with some commercial breaks, for far less interesting things.

Yep - have to do it somehow. It is a for profit venture. More and more podcasts now have different levels of sponsorship with some folks getting bonus episodes, others getting them earlier, and others without ads. It is part of how people make a living doing it, even if all the different ads and pushing for money and content you can't see/hear gets a bit annoying at times.

I just skip the parts where he's hawking his wares. But I don't fault him for trying.

Yep. For many of these YouTube folks, this is how they make their living. And for those whose content I enjoy, I can endure a little self-promotion if it allows them to continue.

Yeah same, but it is a little annoying. Rick seems to be doing alright, judging by all the gear I see in the background.

I am so jealous. I wish I could do YouTube for a living...but sadly my videos don't move the needle. So back to the 9-5 grind for me. That said, Rick deserves his success.

Its not Rick I have the problem with. It's the DumbFux with their prize-winning stupid comments that's rampant throughout the pages. He CAN rub me the wrong way occasionally when he rushes off to left field, but I respect his knowledge.

^ Comment sections on the Internet in general tend to be cesspools, but YouTube is one of the worst IMO.
