Some of the members of the Penguin Cafe Orchestra have reunited as "Simon's Dream" with help from others including Jerry Marotta. and have done at least one live show, this evening in Saugerties.



It looks like some of the mentions online (incl. Marotta's social media, where I heard about it) seemed to be indicating that it's the Penguin Cafe Orchestra, but Arthur Jeffes holds the rights to using that name, and his lineup goes by "Penguin Cafe". Seems like a good show!

It's a beautiful repertoire and it deserves to be performed. It doesn't really matter who by, it's one of those cases where the musicians aren't very important. I've seen the original band and his sons version and its very much composed music in the same way that chamber music is, I enjoyed both, they were no different really.
