Wow, indeed.

Those are really great! I especially love the turquoise-inlaid bass guitar.
Thanks! I retired from law enforcement in 2011 & started fooling around with my wood.

I do mostly turning, not a great volume ( it's just a hobby ), for about 20 years.
Here's some bottle stoppers. And random stuff

Very nice! Turning is a newer thing for me. Mostly bottle openers & wine stoppers, but I’m branching out.

I’ve made a few of those too!

So who was this Xiander guy, that he got bounced out on his ear so quickly? Had to be a prior perp, right?
No clue, but funny how he launched a thread I could get into!
Anyway, spent the day turning wine bottle stoppers!

My partner for 30 years has a couple lathes and he dabbled in making pool cues.

When I was in high school in the 70s, we made a peace pipe on a lathe. We made a lot of treaties back then.
Boceephus, you might look into https://nilesbottlestoppers.com/ for some really high quality stoppers.
Lots of choices in styles. A bit more cost, but, they will last a long time.
I have found that the chrome plated ones will degrade over time.

Wow! Those are cool. I’ll have to order a few!

Did you machine the opener?
It looks like a robust bit of metal.
No, bought through Rockler.

Built a Massironi shelf this weekend. It’s pretty simple. Only takes a jig saw & sander.

Nice looking shelves.
I got to do some turning the other day. It was green wood, so it is hiding in a paper bag for a few days to slowly dry to prevent cracking.
I will post a pic when I get a chance.

Cool! Can’t wait to see it!
Just got a bunch of cherry logs. I’ll mill them down & stick them in the attic to dry. I just wax the end grains.
