^^^ I think she does need to calm down. That would be more fatalities than the 1918 flu (~ 50 million) and there is no evidence that I've seen to support any such dire claims. We already see from the China experience that the curve can be flattened if extreme measures are taken. The only question in my mind is whether the rest of the world will be able to take similar measures. IMO.
It could possibly be as bad since like the so-called Spanish Flu (it probably originated in the US) it is highly infectious and has similar mortality: "Comparisons are hard to determine. Since new information about COVID-19 is calculated by different organizations and governments in different ways, much work remains to determine the disease's true case-fatality rate. But one JAMA study published in February estimates the case-fatality rate at 2.3%, nearly identical to Spanish flu estimates."
