^Well, I like Elder and King Buffalo a whole bunch. I guess I should check out Howling Giant.

    Weite's album arrived today.

I expected something along the lines of Elder's Gold and Silver Sessions or the Delving album--i.e., a continuation of DiSalvo's Kraut rock explorations.

And things do get all knotty and Kraut-y, but there's something else going on here, too. I suppose that shouldn't be too surprising: this is far more of a collective effort than those other recordings.

Definitely need a few more spins before I have any real grasp of the tunes, but it certainly feels like a winner.

Fucking rad. Blows my mind to think that I’ll see Elder in a fucking arena. Very, very good news for them.

Too much to hope for a CD version, but I assume a download will be available through Bandcamp.

I'm all over this. Loved that first delving album. Thanks for the info! Meanwhile, Innate Passage is still on regular rotation

    Indeed!

I’ve been obsessed with the new Delving and the Full Earth album. Not really similar but floating around in the same headspace.

New Delving is excellent! Loving everything that Nick DiSalvo does at the moment.

I also purchased the Full Earth album and although it's a bit long, it's a really interesting album that keeps revealing new things! Cool stuff

It definitely is. I don't really get the need for a different project to issue this music, this could have been easily released under the name of Elder. Ok, the music is less heavy, but still. Maybe the reason is that it is fully instrumental with no lyrics, which is not the case for Elder.

As the album progresses, the music becomes more atmospheric and dramatic. I love Zodiac, with this long and inspired musical phrase repeated several times in the beginning and at the end of the song. Ascetic is also great, while Vanish with Grace diverges (no pun intended!) into pure electronica as the album comes to an end. So yes, this is no Elder music in a sense, but it could be a very sensible progress of their music.

On Bandcamp Friday, which is next Friday, this album is going to be the first one into the cart.

I don't know what took me so long, but I just discovered this band with their "Innate Passage" album. Really great stuff. Where do I go from here?

Dead Roots Stirring, Spires Burn EP, Lore, Reflections Of A Floating World and Omens. I'd avoid the first album (self titled). Dead Roots Stirring and Spires Burn have little or no keyboards and seemed a little one dimensional to me when I first got them, but they quickly became favorites. The later albums are more refined and complex but the guitar and bass tones on those two are a grinding perfection.

Dead Roots Stirring is more stoner with some flare, but each album after that gets more adventurous. I would honestly start with that one and work your way up to where you are now. This is a phenomenal band.

Do not overlook the Elder and Kadavar collaboration album under the name of Eldovar.

For me their best effort is without a doubt "Reflections Of A Floating World", but I have all of their albums on CD, including the one from the project they made with Kadavar - Eldovar. It is great to see the progress they made across their albums.

... and if you like this I would definitively check also Weedpecker - III
