Elder - Omens

^Well, I like Elder and King Buffalo a whole bunch. I guess I should check out Howling Giant.

Weite's album arrived today.

I expected something along the lines of Elder's Gold and Silver Sessions or the Delving album--i.e., a continuation of DiSalvo's Kraut rock explorations.

And things do get all knotty and Kraut-y, but there's something else going on here, too. I suppose that shouldn't be too surprising: this is far more of a collective effort than those other recordings.

Definitely need a few more spins before I have any real grasp of the tunes, but it certainly feels like a winner.

It was announced today Elder are opening for Tool on a large US tour (20 shows).

Fucking rad. Blows my mind to think that I’ll see Elder in a fucking arena. Very, very good news for them.
