What are you currently reading?

Black Holes and Time Warps by Kip Thorne. I am kind of reaching a point in my curiosity about astrophysics, where I would like a break. Thinking I wouls like to read up on some of my favorite bands - which I have never done. What do you recommend for a good Yes, Rush, Floyd, Zepp, (Beatles perhaps?)... You know, they typical proggy - rocky thing, I can escape to. Please, no out of print or no longer for sale type thing. I read, I do not collect. If its available on NOOK - so much the better.

I am currently reading "After Further Review: My Life Including the Infamous, Controversial, and Unforgettable Calls That Changed the NFL" by Mike Pereira. Non football fans would find it boring as hell, but for football fans it is a very interesting look into the world of officials in the NFL (and college to a lesser extent).

Picked up Close to the edge story of Yes... So far, a bit ass kissish. I get that the guy is a fan, but 2 chapters in, I worry about actually getting to know the lads, rather I am left with a little too much gushing/advertising. Yes the guys are genius, Yes, they can really play, Yes they go through a lot of personnel and they all were good at what they do. So far... Not much interesting or revelatory stuff. I'm about to barf from learning about Jons "sparkling sense of humor" with nothing to back it up with. No witty stories, no interesting comments. Its like the guy thinks he has to flatter the band. With little regard for the interest of the reader.

I also bought a book for 1.99 called "Pink Floyd Blew my mind"... Lots of F...k this and that... it gets old three paragraphs in. Not even sure this guy knows the band. Never mind. I suppose he fancies himself funny... If I get bored with everything else I may revisit it.

"Terms Of Service" by Jacob Silverman.
The subtitle is 'Social Media and the price of constant connection'.
A long dense read about the growth and spread of social media and the industries spawned by it.
Yet another book about how f*cked we are when it comes to privacy.
It is an important topic that most people would find decidedly un-fun.
He does offer some ideas for mitigating the loss of privacy and a past spent over sharing.

I got mine off Amazon as well. Very short, but insightful, as Willie was there for the original six years, plus.
You can get an autographed copy from Willie himself by PM on Facebook, but it's $25. I already went that route
with his Classic Memorabilia book, with Jack Weston co authoring. He lives in Macon. I need Kirk West's book
as well for The Allman Brothers library.

For Pink Floyd I really enjoyed Nick Mason’s book “Inside Out – A Personal History Of Pink Floyd”

For Genesis both Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford’s books are great reads. “Chapter and Verse” is a band history and pretty good although rather generic.

Zeppelin – Of course “Hammer Of The Gods” is considered a classic.

Tull – I thought “Jethro Tull – A History Of The Band 1968 to 2001” was quite good.
