They should have the cover art remixed by S. Clay Wilson.

And the live show will just be the same as the live tracks on the Slipstream video. Bah.

Tull did two nights at the L.A. Sports Arena; I was there for the first (having also seen the previous night in San Diego). There were definitely video cameras onstage for that show, but apparently only footage from the second night (Nov. 12) was used for Slipstream. They certainly couldn't have used "Heavy Horses" from the show I saw, which was a trainwreck. At the transition from the grandiose opening section to the first vocal part, Ian's acoustic guitar had no sound and everything ground to a halt.

The version of the LA concert I have ends with Protect And Survive, Locomotive Breath/Black Sunday (Reprise), Aqualung.
It's from a radio show, so they must have swapped things around in the broadcast version in order to end with Aqualung.

"Locomotive Breath" followed by the balloon routine and the "Black Sunday" reprise ("One...day...too........ah-soon!") was always the encore on that tour.

I know. Hopefully the LA concert will be the true setlist running order (and full show, not just the audio from Slipstream) like in Progatron's post.

And presumably that entire very great LA performance (I know from the boots), with a very great setlist for A fans, was filmed. And yet we'll see none of it beyond the 25 minutes already on Slipstream.

The Coruisk is located on the southern side of the Cuillins - we were on the northern side of the Cuillins hiking the Fairy Pools back in 2019. Such a magical place! Ian's old salmon farm and home was not far from there at all (Strathaird) - you can check this stuff out on Google Maps.

Edit: Here was his Ian's Strathaird pad from 1978 - 1994, and the Dun Ringill fort is just up the road too: https://www.google.com/maps/@57.1810...8i6656!5m1!1e4

I think the LA Sports Arena has been a boot that’s been floating around for awhile.

Oh yeah. Being a syndicated radio broadcast, it was prime bootleg fodder.

Years ago at a record-fair they sold two boots from this concert, one being The Pine Ian's Jig (Genschman Records).
Don't remember the other title, but I only bought this one, because it had more songs from "A". Seems like it was released under different titles too.

Yes, including The Magic Piper, "B", and The Flute in the Rock.

They are still aiming for late April for this, but unforeseen circumstances could arise. It's been confirmed that the book version of Benefit will be out later in the year if they can sort out some issues they're having with the live material that's to be included. Broadsword is slated for next year, with initial prep work already begun, but it's unclear if Steven Wilson will be available for the mixing by the time they reach that stage. I believe there's something planned for the 50th anniversary of Aqualung as well, but I don't know what that could be that hasn't already come out in numerous formats.

Ah, so it will be more than just a repackage of the extant deluxe version.

Might be hard to make that happen now, unfortunately...
