    The History of Yes Pt. 4- The Live Albums- w/Henry Potts & Aymeric Leroy

    Here's the last installment in our four part series on the history of Yes.

    This time we look at the various live albums over the years and also, the Steven Wilson remixes and their bonus tracks.

    Look for a similar series on King Crimson in the near future from the three of us....

    I can't wait for the King Crimson series. I've said it before, but this is evergreen content you're providing. Future fans will watch these deep dives.

    Thanks Sean for doing these! I've really enjoyed listening to the first three and I shall, no doubt, enjoy this one just as much one of the coming days. And a King Crimson edition would be great!

    I want to commend you for covering the live albums in order of performance date rather than in order of release. Not that you would have done it the other way, but it annoys me when I rip a CD or buy a download of a live album and the year tag is 2013 or something for a concert from 1969. I always change that tag.

    Thank you all, I really appreciate it. This series showed me that taking a theme and bringing in a panel of experts is as interesting/entertaining as the interviews I do with various prog musicians and adds some variety. My themed shows have gotten as many views, sometimes more. The show about Zappa's guitars and styles is my most watched at the moment.

    I have another themed show at the end of March, last Friday, were it's a guitar roundtable with me, Alan Benjamin (Advent) and Karl Eisenhart (Pinnacle, Tribe Of Names) playing some of The Greatest Prog Riffs. Should be fun.

    Please drop by and sub if you have yet to. There's a lot of cool stuff coming up. Like...

    UPCOMING EPISODES-
    * Kick The Cat (w/Kris Myers of Umphrey's McGee)- March 6th
    * Carl Verheyen (Supertramp)- March 11th
    * Jerry Goodman- (Mahavishnu Orchestra, Dixie Dregs, The Flock)- March 13th
    * Percy Jones (Brand X )- March 20th
    * The Greatest Prog Guitar Riffs w/Alan Benjamin, Karl Eisenhart and Yours Truly- March 26th
    * The History of Progressive Rock Part 2- (1980 thru 1999) w/Strawberry Brick's Chas Snider- March 27th
    * The Evolution of Steely Dan- April 3rd A close look at the building blocks of Steely music and how it became more sophisticated as time passed. Music educator/pianist Bill Graham is my guest.
    * Billy Cobham (Mahavishnu Orchestra, Jazz Is Dead)- April 9th
    * Marc Bonilla (Keith Emerson Band, Toy Matinee, Derek Smalls of Spinal Tap)- April 10th
    * Barry Andrews (XTC, Shriekback)- April 17th

    Coming In April-
    Richard Williams (Kansas) & Nathan East (Eric Clapton, Toto, Daft Punk)

    Sean, I was reading your post above, saw the thing about Zappa's guitar, and got to thinking - Chris Siebold needs to see this! Then I keep reading, and see you have Kick the Cat coming up. Awesome! Their new stuff kills.

    Mr. Sean, are the episodes for SOAL also available in audio form somewhere?

    I desperately want to listen to what you do, but can't be in front of YT constantly dammit

    You can get a tool like AVCFree that will rip an audio file from a YouTube video.

    Won't it just play if you were to hit play on YouTube and stick your phone in your pocket while it plays? Or does it stop?

    What episode of mine would you like to hear first? I can upload the audio to my G drive and send you a link to listen if you like. I can't put them all up there at once, but this would be a good way to share just the audio of a few select ones for starters.

    I haven't found a site that will host my shows without charging me a monthly fee of $50 or more and I'm not ready to make that plunge yet. I have about 200 hours of them already, so that's a lot of big files to host.

    If you were to do audio via the podcast route it looks like this could get you just about everywhere for $24.99 monthly:

    YouTube will only play in the background if you have a premium subscription now. Otherwise you have to have the app open.

    I was being lazy. Maybe the audio would be available on Apple podcast or something else. No biggie, I'll do as suggested and rip the audio with a software

    Another excellent show! Nice sharing of musical knowledge/experience. Wasn't aware of the most recent Yes CDs/DVDS (will have to hunt down) with the Dean artwork.
    What can this strange device be? When I touch it, it brings forth a sound (2112)
