I've spent many hours in Kerbal Space program watching my ships slowly drift through space with some nice spacey prog playing as background music.

Another one I really liked in the last few months, Metroid Dread! Managed to beat it on hard mode but can't get past the first boss on "dread" mode

My son, who is a pretty hardcore gamer, has been really into Elden Ring lately (as apparently has most of the gaming community). Apparently someone has done a speed run and beaten the game in like six minutes, with no combat at all.....

Speed runs astound and amaze me. Probably because my speed days are decades behind me and the further I get from that the more amazed I am at others.

I am currently in a City of Heroes: Homecoming rut, well not rut because it is my all-time favorite game and I love playing it. Maybe more of an anchor as it keeps me from trying new games and when I do I compare them to CoH. Kinda like when you have eaten at the best ever Chinese restaurant and it spoils all future Chinese cuisine that isn't from that restaurant.

I game on shuffle so it's not uncommon to have a run like - Hip-hop to Death Metal to Prog to Jazz to Classical to Soundtrack to Spoken Word.

I game on shuffle as well - unless playing an ID game (Doom, Wolfenstein etc) - then I put ThrakAttaKck on

Thrak improvs are great atmosphere for those

Please, enlighten me. It looks like this game is just free to download. Do you choose your own path/adventure or do you have to team up with others?
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

I still need to finish Dread. I took that with me on a business trip a few months back and played through a bunch of it in the hotel at night during the couple weeks I was there. Such a fun game.

CoH is a multi-faceted MMORPG, supporting players who want to team or go solo or do both. A variety of missions and task forces, plus other story arc activities that can be soloed or teamed. Many payers get into character creation and Alt-itis is a common affliction.

When you sign up create a character on the Excelsior server - it's the most active - and drop me a line @Murdock Jr.

For the Doom series I go with game audio, darken the room, and where my best cans.

Doom II was my first run through on the new rig. Took me a bit to settle in after 15+ years of not playing.

Just got a good look at "Slay the Spire", which my son got as a freebie with his PS5 account. Looks interesting!

Slay the Spire is a lot of fun. I've got it for my Switch and would play it while watching TV sometimes. Takes some serious strategizing, but once you've gone through a couple runs and have unlocked more cards it starts to get better.

Just finished the main story part of "Kirby and the Forgotten Land" on the Switch, and it was delightful. I've been a Kirby fan since the very first game came out on the Gameboy in 1992.

Played Dune: Imperium - I enjoyed it - likely better as a 3 or 4 person game rather than 2.

A little Dominion-y with the deck building and some play mechanics; but other tabletop elements too.

Playing loop hero now, its a retro styled tower defense/mmo type game
