GOSPEL - Prog + Punk (@The Mars Volta fans)

Anyone know them? Fans of The Mars Volta?

Gospel are a proggy post-hardcore/screamo/punk band from Brooklyn, NY who made a pretty unique debut album in 2005 titled "The Moon is a Dead World."

Then in 2010, the single "Tango" came out and was emphasizing more of the trippy, mathy prog side.

And then they broke up.

Only to reunite a few years ago, and they today released their 1st new song "S.R.O." which is the 1st single on the upcoming album "The Loser" which comes out on May 13th.

Pretty sweet song -- I dig how dense the bass line is. I do hear the MV comparison especially in how unsettled the arrangement is. Quite good also at being noisy without losing any of the details of the playing. I'll also keep an eye for the album when it comes out.

The bad news is, is you live in USA/CANADA, there's only a limited number of copies left of The Loser and Moon is a Dead World is already sold out.

Why they are limited to certain territories?..I dunno.
