I will revisit, but I recall hearing what sounded like vinyl noise on my CD edition of Stardust.
Wow, from what I'm reading about the Stardust We Are "surface noise", I'm glad I picked up the two box sets.
Is there a specific place on that album where it stands out? I want to see if it's on the box set version. Admittedly, it's been a whole since I listened to it
I got the vinyl package of Flower Power last night. When I played the LP it had pops and clicks so I think the vinyl used the audio from an LP rip.

I just checked Qobuz, and the next two albums are not listed for preorder even though they were originally slated for release later this month. Also, Century Media still doesn't have Stardust We Are or Flowerpower.
I'm guessing that Inside Out Music was forced to slow down the release schedule, perhaps due to the production errors people reported above.

Yep, I try to clean everything. Sometimes I get lazy though
Roine posted on Facebook today:
"more great re-releases coming on LP & CD & Downloads - Space Revolver and Rainmaker next - and I do masters for the mighty 'Unfold The Future' - as we speak .....remastered and also many remixes - more dynamic - more details !!"
Century Media, Inside Out Music's official store in the US, still doesn't have the last two in stock. I don't mind the longer timeline as long as they do it right.
/sigh - please stop with the remixes - I never would have predicted Roine would become someone consumed by tinkering with his back catalog. He always seemed so happy living in the present and creating new music. Hopefully after this reissue campaign completes he can look forward again.
I think the remixes are fun and we always have the original mixes to fall back on. The way he goes about remixes sometimes (even re-recording parts or finding previously unused takes) it's probably not that different than some of the work he would do on a new album. Like he has some basic tracks and he's going to tweak the song by adding keys, guitars, vocals, percussion, fairy dust, etc.
Seeing UTF remixed/remastered yet again seems kind of weird though. It hasn't been that long since the last one. From my perspective looking from the outside this seems like an assembly line process. I would have preferred more thorough and painstaking remixes and/or "definitive" remixes/remasters (although I admit to being a bit conflicted on what those would look like, exactly). I haven't looked closely into this, but I noticed at least one track on the new Flower Power release is the version from The Road Back Home. It seemed to integrate well into the rest of the album, but this makes it seem like he's just doling out the remixes/remasters in piecemeal fashion and sort of compiling the newer bits as they are finished. I mean, I realize there's a significant effort involved in remixing an entire album in excruciating detail, but I'd rather see him pick and choose an album here and there and spend more time with each one. The way this is going now we can expect the "definitive" versions in about 10 years.

Understood. But if the originals had the same noise, there wouldn't have been such an uproar upon hearing the new versions. It was always clear to me that the originals were fine and after a quick browsing of the new versions on YT, the defects were immediately apparent to me.
Good observations - trying to remaster/remix what will probably be 12 mammoth albums in about 16 months is just too much. IO probably wanted to release everything on vinyl and he may have volunteered to do these extra tasks. But it does lead to what you say piecemeal fashion, sliding in Road Back Home versions and then remixing a few others as well. Take the new Stardust We Are remaster/remix. "Different People" is one of the songs he chose to do a new remix. On the original the song before it "A Day at the Mall" would blend right into "Different People" no gap. Now that he remixed "Different People" "A Day at the Mall" just a has a weird sudden fade out, there is a second of silence and the new "Different People" remix starts. So album flow is not as good, not as smooth. Details like song transitions are important if you are indeed wanting to make the definitive versions.
I doubt I'll be getting all of these reissues, but I'm definitely glad to have the vinyl editions of some of these.

It actually doesn't make financial sense for InsideOut to offer some of these for streaming on services like Qobuz, but not for sale on HDTracks. One has to imagine the label, and especially the band makes far more of a percentage from a download purchase than a stream on a flat monthly rate service.
That would be the 21st Century equivalent of releasing a "Greatest Hits" or "Best of" album. To fulfill a contract without having to write new music. And of course modern remixes and remasters are far more lucrative than that ever was.

The only remaster I'm looking forward to is Flower Power made less brickwalled than the original CD. But if they introduce more problems along the way - guess I'd wait and see what happens next.
Seeking an opinion - Should I cancel my first two remixed Flower King's CDs?

World of Adventures and Retropolis?
IMO, no I wouldn't cancel. What I've heard sounded good to me. Also, the Flower Power remix sounds really good to my ears. "Psychedelic Postcard" is a revelation now that the vocals have been changed from that rather grating (IMO) "munchkin" sound on the original.
